The club in partnership with the federal road safety corps (FRSC) embarked on a wellness-free medical check-up targeted at drivers across the region.
Implied to create awareness on healthy lifestyle in the ember month to control driving measures together with keeping fit at all times, the club seized the medium to galvanise commuters for purpose of knowing their fitness level. According to Lion Idowu Tomac Oluwatobi, Project Coordinator, drivers, due to the nature of their job, do not take out time to discern their health status or even comprehend their vital signs, which spurred the club to project such an undertaking.
With cases like eye deficiency and high blood pressure as a contributing factors to road accidents, the club took it upon itself to carry out free medical checkups plus the provision of drugs to drivers with related illnesses.
Lion Idowu Tomac, in a brief interview with Ikorodu News Network (INN), further stated that a free test on sugar level is also part of the medical program because it also plays a role in BP complications.
He continued, "Everything we're giving them today is free, to encourage them to effectively carry out their duty because truly, health is wealth".
"238 individuals have successfully registered to benefit from this program, and no doubt we'll ensure to be on standby for all of them to get the free service we're delivering".
"We're using this medium to encourage everyone to know their status as the year comes to an end. While people are beginning to think about how to spend the festive season, they should also put their health first" Lion Idowu asserted.
