In Questing to achieve more set goals in the realm of service to humanity, Ikorodu Peculiar Lions club in district 404A1 Nigeria officially prided itself on its charter ceremony and public installation of club officers.
The occasion took niche at the MM international hotels and Suites in Sabo axis of Ikorodu on the 30th of October 2022, playing host to fellow club administrators and volunteer units.
Enthusiastic about setting standards and benchmarks towards building a perfect structure and aid monument, Lion David Peace Akinosho was inducted as the club’s Charter President.
Recently working together with St. Raphael Hospital, catering to over 160 people on a free eye treatment project in Ikorodu North LCDA, the club has in a very short while subjected its time, treasure and talent as a tool to community development.
Before the installation, Lion Anogwi Anyanwu PMJF NLCF FCA HCIB, District Governor, in his remarks, advised the new club (birthed from Ikorodu Unique Lions Club) to ensure it succeeds in meeting the needs of the neighbourhood and serving the impoverished.
He further implored the club members to bear in mind its five focal areas of service, which are; Vision, Hunger Alleviation, Environmental Protection, Fight Against Diabetes & Cancer.
Congratulating Lion David Akinosho, club officers and board members, Lion Anogwi instructed the club leadership to live up to expectations in diligently propelling her numerous assignment.
“The Club is deemed the most fundamental unit of our Association and the direct link with our cherished communities”.
“I assure you of my support and that of the District in your strive to meet your goals for the Service Year, we look forward to a fruitful and pleasant working relationship” Lion Anogwi asserted
Installation of the Charter President and club officers and induction of new members were subsequently done by Lion Anogwi Anyanwu.
Post installation, Lion Akinosho David in his acceptance speech appreciated Lion Esan Adefunke and other Lion members for impacting his being and increasing his knowledge to become a determined and better Lion.
According to him, Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club is a ground for true service-minded people with the spirit of equality, unity of minds and togetherness.
Lion Akinosho continued, “We’re all learning together to get better and productive in our various fields of life. That’s why together, we’ll steer the wheel of the club to greater and sustainable height by God’s grace”.
“Our Signature Project ratified by the Board is a prototype of a UK moveable Bus Stop shelter stand branded in Lions Colour and Logo at every Community B/Stops both left and right from Sabo down to Imota our coverage area”.
“We engaged ourselves in participating in Feeding the Hungry, Tree planting, Diabetes Awareness Campaign with flyers, Cancer Awareness Initiative and Vision Exercise”.
Lion Akinosho concluded his speech by pledging to serve in his best capacity with love, respect, understanding, togetherness and open-mindedness.
