Ayangburen of Ikorodu kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, HRM, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, HRM, Oba Richard Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe land and HRM, Oba Raji David Olukayode, Eweye of Isiwu, joined the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu LG, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina to host Moruf Ahmed Ogunaiki, the newly appointed first Obaship to be crowned in Agura Community.
The new king (Alagura of Agura) was presented Staff of Office on the 5th of November 2022 at Ikorodu local government secretariat.
Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, was represented by Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert.
Kayode Robert, the special adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Community Affairs, on behalf of the Governor acknowledged that the Mr Sanwo-Olu has established an efficient system that makes the selection of Kings transparent and timely to actualise the demand of Agura Community in upgrading their Baale to become the King.
Ikorodu council boss, Hon. Wasiu Adesina on the other hand welcomed the new king by expressing his happiness.
Adesina pointed out that Agura community has achieved double honour in terms of ongoing road construction and creation of modern paramount ruler, believing the Alagura of Agura will seize his reign as king to groom and steer the community towards development.
He also added that the new Oba’s supremacy should preserve it’s culture and traditions, and embrace peace, stability and prosperity in Agura communities.
The Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi implored the new king, Oba Moruf Ogunaiki to be of good character.
Advising the fresh king to give honour to whom it’s due, for reasons that his selection as Oba of Agura was considered after much contention with other royal family in Agura.
Calling for total reconciliation in the family tree, Oba Shotobi exhorted the new king to create peace and unity among royal families in Agura for a peaceful reign, asking him to perform to everyone’s expectations.
In his speech of gratitude, Oba Moruf Ogunaiki thanked all Obas and guests in attendance.
Pledging to be of good behaviour, HRM, Oba Moruf Ogunaiki affirmed to conduct his leadership to fit the standard of expectation and elevate Agura communities to success.
He was chaperoned by his wife, Olori Olabisi Olalekan Ogunaiki.
