Principal relief association, Zeedars Elite Club has donated free school uniforms to 100 pupils of Wesley Primary School, located in the Erefun community of Ogijo in Ogun State.
Present at the program on the 9th of November 2022, Ikorodu News Network (INN)gathered that the Club made the donations to not only put smiles on the faces of students that lack the financial means but to also improve the school standards.
According to the club’s project coordinator, Zeedars Elite Club, founded in 2019 is gradually becoming a unit to identify with in areas of uplifting the stranded and less privileged.
The club was amassed by the school’s headmistress, Mrs Oshinowo Yemisi, playing host to other dignitaries including HRM, Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi, Ologijo of Ogijo, High Chief Wasiu Bamgbelu, Baale of Erefun, CSP Omoh Olorogun, DPO Ogijo, Prince Wasiu Gbadebo, Club’s Adviser and the club’s patron, Mr Taiwo Ebenezer.
Guests were also delighted by students of the school, welcoming all in attendance with series of fascinating traditional songs and dance.
In a brief speech by the King of Ogijo land, Oba Kazeem explained that the club has prioritised supporting residents in his communities for positive reasons, most especially the ones without means.
He encouraged the club to continue their good works, raining prayers and royal blessings on the members.
“The spirit of service to humanity is oozing out of all the members of the Zeeders Elite Club, from the first time I encountered them, I was able to ascertain their true course, and I’ve been opened to them whenever they call”.
“Projects like this are what am most excited about, and that’s why am glad to be associated with the club” Oba Kazeem added.
The King also used the medium to praise the DPO of Ogijo for not only lending, but also policing the community effectively.
CSP Omoh Olorogun, DPO Ogijo, in his short remarks, lauded the club for reaching out to the needy, adding that such a kind gesture should be emulated by all.
He continued, “The club embodies responsible individuals, and they’re embarking on projects that only right-thinking people will do”.
The CSP further explained that he will like to be a part of the club when he retires, asking the club to continue with their good works to aid community growth.
High Chief Wasiu Bamgbelu, Baale of Erefun community, extolled the club for their kind gestures, encouraging them to continue blessing his town.
According to the Baale, “There are a lot of associations in Ogijo, but none has made such generous moves as Zeedars Elite Club”.
He proceeded, “For me, the club is thinking outside of the box and they must be encouraged in their endeavours”.
“The children are all smiling today because Zeedars Elite Club has brought joy to them, even the parents are excited because the club has brought comfort” He asserted
The club on the latter, through its spokesperson, Mr Ahmed Ajayi, pleaded with the Ogun state government to grant subsequent project approval requests made by the unit.
According to Mr Ahmed, the school uniform project execution was delayed due to late approval by the government jurisdiction in charge (SUBEB).
“We want them to know that we’re a non-political and also non-government organisation, Our only focus is to help the impoverished, the less privileged with our hard-earned resources”.
“All we do is carry out project needs assessment, put our reserves together and support our targetted area of choice” Mr Ahmed concluded
Capping the event, Mrs Oshinowo Yemisi, Headmistress of Wesley primary school, thanked the club for identifying with the school to improve the lives of pupils.
She noted that what the club has done will strengthen education in the community, exhorting them to continue by looking at other areas they can also support the institution.
