Mudashiru Obasa, has felicitated with Nigerians, especially the Christians, as they join others across the world to mark the 2023 Easter celebration in remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Dr. Obasa tasked Christians in Lagos and Nigeria to use the opportunity of the celebration to engage in prayers for the country and the successes of the incoming administrations at both state and national levels. In his Easter message issued in Lagos on Friday by Eromosele Ebhomele, his Chief Press Secretary, Speaker Obasa also urged Nigerians to spend the holiday season in individual introspection and understanding that the country needs the citizens to prosper. "No country grows or prospers without its citizens. This is to say that the roles of the citizens in the development of a country cannot be overemphasised. "At this stage, we must see Nigeria as our country and resolve to unite to make it a better place for all. "This means that as we pray, let's also be mindful that we must all be willing to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our dear country no matter which part we come from," Obasa advised. Obasa tasked Christians in the country on religious tolerance saying that is one way citizens can live in peace, harmony and love as taught by Jesus Christ, who is the reason for the season. "Jesus Christ taught us all the virtues of humility, kindness, compassion and fear of God. He remains a study in perseverance and forgiveness. This was why He reminded us that love for one another is one of the greatest commandments of God. "As I congratulate you and wish you a happy Easter celebration on behalf of my colleagues and staff at the Lagos State House of Assembly, I want to appeal that we imbibe the virtues of Christ and be in love with one another. "We should also use this period to touch lives. Let's remember those in need. Let us show compassion to neighbours, friends and other citizens our hands can reach out to," Obasa said. The Speaker noted that Lagos enjoys peace and security because the State House of Assembly had constantly passed bills, motions and resolutions with the residents at the centre of consideration. "We will not rest. Lagos, now the fifth largest economy in Africa, can become the biggest economy in the continent and further boost national progress. This is our goal," the Speaker said.

The ongoing structural changeover has reaped high credits from club members at home and abroad, also drawing commendations from eminent personalities across the waterbed region. All thanks to Engr. Amid Adekunle Oduborisa, President of the club, whose creative and visionary foresight has peddled him over the years both in the private and public sectors. An up-close and personal discourse with the well-established president of the premier club became an adventurous tour for members of Ikorodu Media Forum (IMF) on the 24th of March 2023. From upgrading his office to that of a presidential par, and erecting symbolic flags at the gated entrance of the premier club, Oriwu club of Ikorodu has indeed heightened its taste according to its name. Speaking with the media practitioners while taking them around, Oduborisa explained that during the beginning of his tenure, he outlined a 5-year agenda plan for the club, which some of his colleagues thought was not possible to accomplish. He said, "But as we speak, every project is been implemented and executed in record time". "As you can see, I came in and transformed my office to a presidential setting, where anyone that comes in would give us the reverence we truly merit as a Club among clubs". "The manager and Secretary's office is been renovated also. There is an ongoing renovation and upgrade of a space we've created for Elders meetings". "To crown it all, we're currently working on rejuvenating the ancientest hospital in Ikorodu, which is the Agbala Paediatric Care Centre". "We plan to make our 50th anniversary, which we'll mark by September/November 2023 an unforgettable experience". Oduborisa said his tenure, which is slated to expire by January 2024 will consciously enhance the state of the club, categorising his administration as progressive in nature. "We're backing our words with actions towards marking Oriwu Club of Ikorodu's 50th anniversary, you can be rest assured of that," Oduborisa affirmed. RE: DON’T ARREST ANY MOTORIST, SANWO-OLU WARNS LASTMA ®™√ INN Nigeria © fb img 16863785586661705408803098953377 The attention of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has been drawn to the recurring fake news circulating on social media, purported to have been said by the Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu that, "Henceforth no LASTMA Officials should arrest any motorist, either commercial or private. LASTMA must manage traffic and not arrest". A statement released by the Director, of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Mr Adebayo Taofiq said the General Manager of the Agency, Mr Bolaji Oreagba had previously debunked the fake online news which had alleged that LASTMA Officials were banned from arresting motorists who flout the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018. Mr Oreagba explained that the false report, which is the handiwork of faceless mischief makers, has been repeatedly circulated online since February 2020 despite being severally refuted by the management of LASTMA. He warned Lagosians, especially motorists, to be wary of online reports aimed at causing chaos and mischief within the society. "I wonder why some individuals choose to always mislead others to contravene the traffic law of the State as amended by the State House of Assembly in 2018", he noted. General Manager hinted that part of the Agency's responsibility is to uphold and enforce the traffic laws of the State, maintaining that the officers and men of LASTMA will not hesitate to enforce those laws whenever violated to transform the State's transportation system towards ensuring the free flow of traffic and reducing road accidents. According to him, "The motoring public is advised to ignore and disregard all fake news circulated by faceless individuals and designed to lead them into breaking the traffic law of the State". He stated further that all working ethics of the Authority, including its operations, are being regulated by the State's Laws. General Manager confirmed that the Agency is currently operating with modern technological innovations in addressing traffic challenges by equipping traffic management personnel with new hand-held Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices that capture real-time traffic violations on the road, in addition to a signalised intersection and junction improvement. While thanking all road users for their support and cooperation with LASTMA which has culminated in the reduction in travel time, Oreagba, however, advised motorists to call any of the Agency's hotlines (08100565860, 08129928503 & 08129928597) for any inquiry or clarification on the activities of the Agency.

Pastor Ashimolowo, who's also the President of Christ Compassion To The Rural World, paid a courtesy visit to the paramount ruler of the waterbed region in Lagos State, with plans to organise an international convention on the last quatre of 2023. Approximately 80 communities in the central axis of Ikorodu Central were fully represented at the palace, culminating with high chiefs, Ayangbure-in-council, and baales. Olori Abosede Kudirat Shotobi, wife of HRM, Sat by the side of the king as Ikorodu received the foremost clergyman. Welcoming the Founder and his delegates, Otunba Ayodele Elesho, special aid to the king, described the visit as a moment of joy to see Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo back in Ikorodu. He said, "We learnt that your missionary career started here in Ikorodu many years ago, and we're pleased to see God bringing you back, not only to see us but also to come and advance the Kingdom of God here". "From the information I've gathered, the International convention to be organised by KICC in Ikorodu is a pleasant and laudable idea, which we're looking forward to amassing with open arms". "We want to let you know that every assistance you need which the palace can provide, on behalf of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, Consider it done!" Otunba Elesho affirmed. Elesho also said that the palace will not just support the convention physically, but will also join the church in prayers to ensure the program ends up successful. Before speaking about the program, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo reminded everyone that he had lived in Ikorodu 49years ago and left the waterbed region some 47years ago, adding that it's a great feeling to be able to come back, and this time with the good news of Jesus Christ to touch the city. Illustrating the program proper to the King and all present at the palace, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, said the assignment which is billed to undertake a major outreach in the Ikorodu division was placed in his heart by God after 3years of fervent prayers. According to him, the program which will run for 7 consecutive days will provide welfare packages to cater to 50,000 residents in Ikorodu. Food items, clothes and educational gadgets for students will also be disbursed during the week-long program. He continued, "Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), during the program, will support 200-300 families requiring medical operations with free surgeries at Ikorodu General Hospital". "60 million naira worth of prescription drugs will be doled out to residents after people have been diagnosed to know the right medication needed". Pastor Matthew illustrated that the last Saturday of the program will be a medical affair where Igbogbo Stadium (the venue for the convention) will be converted into an open hospital to cater for health-challenged individuals. And on that same Saturday night, there will be a major evening crusade. "We're aware that Igbogbo Stadium is still under construction as we speak, but before coming here, we had a meeting with the Lagos State Government, and we've been told that the stadium will be completed by September, before the program set date (in November)". "Nigeria is at a crossroads and we're going through a lot of challenges, we must bring help, relief and blessing to the people in Ikorodu" Pastor Ashimolowo asserted Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo later presented 'The Power Of Positive Prayers', a book he authored that contains 15,000 prayer points to the King. His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, in his speech, thanked Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo for coming to Ikorodu, calling the day remarkable. Oba Kabiru said though Pastor Ashimolowo found his way back to Ikorodu, He (the King) has been peeking to meet with the clergyman for quite some time. He continued, "When Pastor Adeboye, founder of the Redeem Christian Church of God came to Ikorodu for a special program, I requested he prayed for LASPOTECH to become a University, he did and it came to pass". "Later, when Pastor Folorunsho Kumuyi of Deeper Life Church visited Ikorodu for another special program, I requested he prayed for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to become the next President of Nigeria, he did and today we have him as President". "For our dear Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, I only have one request for him, he should pray for us that the next Governor of Lagos State should come from Ikorodu because we're long overdue for it". The King also suggested that the venue for the convention be shifted to LASUSTECH to have a bigger space. Pastor Ashimolowo subsequently gave reasons as to why the church decided to use Igbogbo Stadium. Oba Shotobi prayed for the church to continue to expand across the globe, adding that Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo should make KICC more visible in Ikorodu. Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) Chairman, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo gave the closing remarks by appreciating Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo for allowing God to direct him back to Ikorodu, asserting that the entire division will be gazing ahead to work with his positive course. Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo was accompanied by; Pastor Wole Oladiyun, Chief Mrs Folukemi Olusanya, Rev. Dr Janet Onaolapo, Rev.
