After many backs and forths, PDP aspirant, Hon Gbenga Shittu has been cleared officially by the appeal court in Lagos to stand as a prospective candidate for its party, contesting for Ikorodu federal constituency perch.
The verdict came on the 17th of November 2022, after a 3-man panel of the Appeal justices rejected the appeal of Hon. Abdulazeez Awesu against the ruling of the Federal High Court that gave the mandate to Mr Gbenga Shittu as the candidate of the PDP.
Andulazeez Awesu at the Appeal Court was subsequently fined the sum of 5 million Naira to be paid to Hon. Gbenga Shittu.
In his response to Ikorodu News Network (INN) as regards the final decision, Hon. Shittu stated that the 5 million fine against Awesu by the court of appeal is a punitive cost that was very well deserved.
Asserting his profound appreciation to the justices of appeal for upholding the truth.
Using the same medium to galvanise his base, Shittu urged supporters to work in unity and harmony.
“I shall work assiduously for victory at the polls next year on behalf of my party” He added.
