Questing to attain milestone feats in the International Lions Club District 404A1 Nigeria, Lion Babatunde Akadri Adeleke, recognised mostly as ‘Sayleke’, officially evolved President of Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club on the 20th of November 2022.
Sayleke, a well-known public figure in Ikorodu division was conferred with the new leadership status by Lion Roseline Ogunlana, the immediate past president of the club who served between the years 2021-2022.
With notable figures like Lion Engr. HOB Lawal, Past International Director, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola, DG iCare Foundation, Comrade Billiamin Lekan-Oba, National Youth Council Of Nigeria (Lagos State chairman), Lion Adefunke Oluranti Esan, Zone 5A chairperson 2022-2023, Lion Akinosho David, President Ikorodu Peculiar Lions club amongst other distinguished guests, the event exhibited class, fashion and elegance.
Family members, friends and well-wishers of the new president were also at the special investiture ceremony which took place at the Lions Activity Centre (OLAC) along Owode-Ibeshe road in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA.
Installation of club officers, induction of new members and leadership modification was administered by Lion Shakirudeen Adeniyi Balogun, 2nd Vice District Governor.
A tenure set to run from the year 2022-2023, the new president in enthusiasm, cited that Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club is unhurriedly and gracefully striding ahead.
In his inaugural speech, Lion Sayleke remarked that a Leader must have virtue and strength which goes beyond being brave or strong alone, adding that courage requires grace to continue with confidence even when it appears unthinkable.
Thanking his predecessors and able Club members for the honour assigned to him to sit among other Club presidents within the Zone, Region and District, Lion Sayleke asserted that his new leadership role will permit him to contribute his quota to the affairs of Lions Club in general.
Urging the club to continue in its humanitarian services, He noted that being elected does not mean he’s more educated but implies a trusted representative capacity.
He continued, “The club must continue to work together for the fulfilment of the goal of the organisation. Serving the people has propelled us to pursue financial aid to further establish endurable agenda for the Club“.

Before the Club’s Award presentation, Lion Babatunde Sayleke introduced a Legacy project called ‘Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club House’ to members and guests in attendance.
The undertaking which he described as a Youth Activity Centre is estimated to cost the club 50 million naira to accomplish.
Inferring that the club cannot attain it all independently, Lion Sayleke pleaded for good spirit donations towards accomplishing the noble project.
