It was all smiles and excitement for both the young and adults at the council secretariat hall in Ijede LCDA on the 28th of December 2022 as residents were given reason to jubilate.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, in a bid to encourage the act of giving, doles out over 500 food packs in a special food support program.
Distinguished as the second phase of the year 2022 distribution of palliative to members of the public, the program was also attended by prominent personalities in the local council development area.
According to the council boss in a speech, the Motunrayo Ayonitemi Food Support Initiative commenced at the inception of her administration as council chairman.
She stated that the distribution of palliative is a personal initiative for her to influence lives through interventions that would convey relief to the less privileged.
She proceeded, “While this program can only come twice a year, I want to implore everyone to accept it as a gesture to extend love to all”.
“Since we started last year, we have touched thousands of families, particularly the elderly and the physically challenged”.
“I feel fulfilled that this initiative is bringing relief to our people, especially at a time like this when the economy of the country is making the cost of living high for the average citizen” she noted.
Hon. Motunrayo further asserted her excitement in executing the support program at a season where love and goodwill should be shared with all.
Women in the region have since praised the council boss for adopting the annual generous endeavours of her mother, the late Lagos east woman leader, Yeye Fausat Gbadebo.
