The project which began in November of 2022 is nearing its completion stage, and according to the council chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the project should be finalised by the end of 2023 first quarter. It is cast to be the lengthiest drainage project executed by a Local Government in Lagos State. In his message to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Hon. Adesina stated that the drainage was constructed during the Late Lateef Jakande's governorship tenure between 1979 and 1983, and has since been dilapidated. "I saw the need to restructure the drainage, and make it elevated, to ease the passage of water, plus a slab on top of it, serving as a walkway because the passage is very narrow". "It forsook worsened state resulted in gutter blockage which causes homes to drench in water during the rainy season". "But now, with this avant-garde upgrade and adequate channelling, the ancestral axis of Ikorodu Local Government will be safe from water smog" Adesina explained. The drainage system stretches from the state-of-the-art mini stadium and Youth Activity Centre in Ita-Elewa to Ikorodu central mosque, measuring a staggering length of 176.8 meters.

I Am honoured to be elected as the Chairman at this stage of our development and I appreciate our member's confidence reposed in me for this responsibility. I am putting up with the responsibility for commitment because there is much to do within a short period. First and foremost, it is time for The Exclusives to take up our foremost social club in Ikorodu Division. This must be done with dedication and accountability. To this end, we want to resume our obligation and participation in the activities of the Ikorodu Oga Development Association and other community associations in which our members are movers. Further to this, we will increase our community intervention activities, strengthening therapeutic lessons for school leavers and actions which I will discuss in detail at the general meeting. The State-of-Ikorodu will be a formal part of the agenda of our monthly meetings to enable us to focus on issues of the community and intervene when necessary. The ideals of the club must a maintained. I have secured the commitment of every Executive Committee to reach out to members who are lagging while I have a personal ambition to enlarge the membership without compromising the standards. My administration will mobilise the members to work on the Secretariat project and set a target of achieving it as soon as possible. It is pertinent to mention that we're ready to move with media technology by hosting The Exclusives website which will not lack quality content. There is no intention of changing the model of The Exclusives, but the dynamics must change and the preeminence of its membership should reflect without winking in the dark. There must be discipline and we must celebrate ourselves. The new Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Said Sanusi SAN will have his reception in due course. By the grace of God, there will continue to be great things to celebrate. I must thank my predecessors, from the founding Chairman, Dr Bolaji Ajenifuja, OFR (now Patron) to the outgoing Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Allison, for the tremendous work done to put up such an image that we all enjoy. I hereby seek your support and the support of all members going forward. The Board of Trustees is a worthy institution by its membership. We intend to tap into you. Finally, as activities define institutions, I urge us to rededicate to The Exclusives, It will pay off. May God continue to bless us and our respective families and friends.

Babajimi Benson MHR is aimed at alleviating hunger across his waterbed district. Entrenched in his foodbank endeavour spearheaded via his iCare foundation, the February 2023 edition of the starvation quenching scheme, lived up to expectations, catering to over 500 residents in Ikorodu division. Dated on the 5th, the program harboured young, elderly, less privileged and disabled persons, putting smiles on the faces of dwellers. As Nigerians are thrust under pressure to make ends meet due to a shortage of money circulation as a result of the new naira design, leaders like Rep. Babajimi Benson have rendered his generous program an avenue to bring hope to his constituents. Alighting at the national statesman's constituency office, where the program took place, Ikorodu News Network (INN) saw visibly delighted individuals being handed their packages after retaining a ticket, issued to beneficiaries to properly coordinate the disbursements. While elders were replenished with utterances of prayers directed at Rep. Babajimi Benson, others were pouring out songs of praise towards 'JB' as he's fondly dubbed for his consistent kind gesture to fulfilling the needs of his people. Seeking a re-election bid to the green chamber, Jimi Benson is the accepted All Progressive Congress (APC) flag-bearer for Ikorodu federal constituency come February 25th 2023. According to a release by the party, the state chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi said the decision was reached as a result of the state of the nation due to the scarcity of fuel and pain occasioned by the Naira redesign. He empathises with the general public, especially the downtrodden who are at the receiving end. He expressed the view that it will be insensitive to forge ahead with the various rallies with the situation of things. He emphasized that members of APC are not immune to the development as he has been inundated with several complaints. He joined his voice with those of other well-meaning Nigerians to call for the review of the Naira redesign policy to give it a human face and ameliorate the suffering of ordinary Nigerians. He equally appealed that petroleum products should be made available in order not to jeopardize the preparation for the elections and reduce the negative economic impact. He enjoined all Lagosians to remain law abiding as all issues are resolved in due course.

A political backing, made known by the faction's founder, Chief Princess Ezuma Scholastica, popularly dubbed Ada-Igbo gburugburu at her pre-election stakeholder's meeting. Held on the 6th of February 2023 in Igbodu axis of Ijede, the group converged with her members, informing them to ready their PVC towards the forthcoming elections. The discussion brought in stakeholders of the group who are squarely from the constituency 2 regions of Ikorodu i.e Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Imota LCDA and Ijede LCDA. Without grating messages, the faction founder, Princess Scholastica Ezuma stated that as a woman leader who has been involved with politics for over 35 years, she is always pressured by the sobs of her people to offer solutions to their difficulties. According to Princess Ezuma, election day will present itself like an exam fever for only those who are not certain about their candidate of choice, putting in that for her group, it's APC from top to bottom. Explaining further, she said, "When I contested some years ago, it was an indigene of Ikorodu that sponsored me, and now it's time for me to give my entire base behind capable candidates in Ikorodu, and the All Progressive Congress (APC) party is my choice". "We understand how the system works and our choice is not laid based on sharing rice and collecting money, but on choosing adequate leadership that will improve the lives of our members". "For Lagos State House of Assembly in Ikorodu constituency 2, we're throwing all our support behind APC's Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA), because according to his catchphrase, if you see AMA? you'll smile, and indeed we want our people to smile". Not lunging tiers, Princess Ezuma also vowed the group's support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Senator Adetokunbo Mukahil Abiru, representing the Lagos East senatorial district and Hon. Babajimi Benson MHR, representing Ikorodu federal constituency. She urged members to go back home and gather their followers to get ready for election day, asserting that Ikorodu must not grieve post-election. Also addressing members, Elder Eze Ibe, another leader in the group said that presently, Nigeria is like a church that is about to witness crossover, noting that the choice of Princess Ezuma will never lead the group astray. He continued, "If they're bad then vote them out, but if they're good re-elect them". "The funny truth is, when you get to that ballot box, only you and God knows who you'll vote for". "So, be ready to exercise your civic duty for APC on election day and vote with your conscience". He further advised that a lot of other party candidates will be listed on the ballot papers, and voters are to check precisely for their chosen APC candidate on the sheet before voting. "If we have decided to support all flag-bearing candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as declared by Princess Ezuma, then members should not be afraid or intimidated based on our recommendation" He concluded. The group finished up the dialogue, pitching another meeting before the election with plans to host the All Progressive Congress (APC) party candidates in Ikorodu. Welfare packages were distributed to all members in attendance at the meeting.
