494k4nn4n7E25776047119404020857. Ikorodu federal lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson, member house of representatives, made his return agenda to the green chamber official on the 6th of January 2023.
The National Statesman brought the entire (Ikorodu) region to a standstill, flagging off his campaign to bag a return tag to the house of representatives during the coming general elections on February 25th 2023.
Held at Ebute ferry terminal, known as 'Dangote', the event converged council chairmen across the division, stakeholders and loyal members of his iCare Foundation.
Lagos East All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Chairman, Mrs Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, in her opening remarks, highlighted names of APC flag bearers in Ikorodu division, compelling party enthusiasts to be fixed for the elections proper.
According to Mrs Oladunjoye, attending campaign programs is not enough, asserting that all members should be ready with their PVCs to vote.
"We should not be deceived by any divisive elements or social media, victory is ours for sure".
"If we take this same campaign flag-off optimism to the polling booths, there is not a concern in my mind that we'll triumph on all fronts in the general elections," she said
Former minister for works and housing of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Lagos GAC member, Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe did justice in declaring Benson as the region's favourite, going into the election as the All Progressive Congress flag-bearer.
Exhorting the good people of the Ikorodu division to vote for Jimi Benson, Senator Ogunlewe advised JB to maintain his quality representation and good work on his return to the green chamber.
Referring to Hon. Abike Dabiri as a quality forebear, Ogunlewe told Jimi Benson to heighten his performance on his eventual victory. "A further replication of your numerous feats will engrave your legacy in the hearts of your entire constituents for generations to come" Ogunlewe affirmed.
Enthralling the all-orange costume event, Legendary Fuji Star, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly recognised as K1 De Ultimate, took the packed ferry space on an entertaining ride with tunes celebrating the efforts of Jimi Benson.
Furthermore, in his quick speech, Babajimi Benson appreciated everyone in attendance, starting from his iCare foundation's DG, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola, whose birthday coincides with the flag-off occasion.
Expressing his gratitude, JB explained that his performance means nothing without the show of love from his constituents, who're also his loyal backers over time.
Strutting on the emphasis aired by Senator Ogunlewe, Jimi Benson pointed out that his return to the house of representatives would be a continuance of his fervent service to elevate the waterbed region of Lagos state.
In a solely hop attitude, the federal legislator connected the jam-packed attendees in a sequel of dance routines.
Ikorodu division Apex leaders, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, GAC Member, first secretary to the Lagos state government, and Chief Asipa Kaoli Olusanya were also in attendance.
