The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina hosted his management and NULGE staff of Ikorodu Local Government for a prayer & thanksgiving round on the 6th of January 2023.
Held at the council secretariat hall, the event was organised to insert God into the activities of the council as it marks the outset of official activities for the Year 2023.
Featuring worship, praise and prayers, the inter-religion event brought exhortations from Pst. Femi Gilbert of the Daylight Revival Church International, Ikorodu and Alpha Shakirudeen Akanni (Iradat Muslim society) for the Islamic and Christian attendees in the council.
In summary, the exhortation edified everyone on the notion ‘those who place God first, through prayers, are usually the most successful ones in the end’.
Post-sermon, both clerics heaped applause on Hon. Wasiu Adesina over his overseeing strategy in the council.
In his remarks, Adesina advised the over 200 NULGE excos in attendance to be useful in fulfilling their numerous official duties, declaring quarterly cash rewards for the best revenue staff, and welfare packages for the best staff of the year.
According to the chairman, 2023 will be positively huge for the council as long as each local government worker modifies in administering their obligations.
He continued, “When I came in, my administration grew Ikorodu Local Government revenue from 5 million to 150 million”.
“The Local government will continue to improve the revenue of the council without exploiting the good people of Ikorodu”.
Adesina noted that every quarter, the council will set up a committee to survey the operation of revenue to admire the feats of income staff.
He, however, pleaded for staff with conflicts to meet with him after the gathering to resolve every dispute, to start the year on a positive footing.
On election, he explained that the council will set out a period to access the PVC of all staff, imploring them to get ready to vote for all APC candidates; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Presidential Flag-bearer, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ikorodu Federal lawmaker, Hon. Babaji Benson, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, and Hon. Gbholahan Ogunleye, APC flag bearer for Ikorodu constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Subsequently, Mrs Adenike Mabodu, Chairman NULGE Ikorodu LG, hailed Adesina for his manner of control, pledging that the council boss will watch a quick gain in effective service from her members.
She added that her members will also play an active role in voting come elections 2023.
