It was entirely an exhibition of team strength for the Lagos State ruling party (APC), as the march path towards the 2023 general election simmers.
Somolu Local Government and Bariga district/suburb in Lagos State were hyped up on the 12th of January, as Bola Tinubu 4 President 2023 support group takes its roadshow further.
The rally billed as 5th touchdown by the Pro-tinubu political crusade group, gained more composure across the inner axis of the region, establishing its usual cognition array.
Sharing souvenirs and simultaneously entertaining residents, business owners and various institutions with good music as usual, the roadshow triggered determination from a population clamouring for better governance post-2023 elections.
From the jump, the group paid a courtesy visit to the palace of HRM, Oba Habib Ola Ade Kassim (Bashua [Odu 1] Oba Of Somolu), who received the faction with warmth, showering blessings on them for a serene road parade.
As the march advanced, re-election contesting Member of the House of Representatives for Somolu Federal Constituency, Bar. Ademorin Aliu Kuye, Somolu Constituency 1 candidate, Hon. Biodun Orekoya, and Honourable Samuel Olufemi Apata, Somolu Constituency 2 (Bariga) House of Assembly candidate, all under the All Progressive Congress umbrella, came out with their massive supporters, making the rally an extraordinary spectacle.
Though put together by the Bola Tinubu 4 President 2023 support group, the parade purely reflected a collective synergy within the ruling party across the local government to sensitive the people towards the forthcoming elections.
Speaking to members of the press post-rally, Mr Fola Tinubu clarified that his main takeaway from the parade predicts the people’s readiness and acceptance to vote for APC.
Re-emphasising the necessity for the roadshow, Mr Tinubu, DG and Vice-Chairman, Bola Tinubu 4 President 2023 support group, said that no one should take for granted the demand to always go to the people, notifying them of the need to partake in the electoral system.
According to Fola Tinubu, Lagos is an APC State, which is demonstrated in the people’s encouraging acknowledgments during the parade.
He continued, “If the people are not happy about the style of the APC statute, you won’t see them getting so excited to see us as we moved around”.
“Their motivation is based on the good governance they’ve enjoyed from the All Progressive Congress’s candidates across the board and I reckon they taste for more”.
Appraising the parade as triumphing, Mr Fola Tinubu affirmed that the group will continue to use the crusade to build the party’s electoral momentum to spawn a landslide victory.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the president Nigerians have been waiting for, and come February 25th, we shall elect a new president that will lead us to the Nigeria of our dreams,” he said.
Sounding the alarm for Nigerians to vote in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria, Mr Fola Tinubu also called on Lagosians to get their PVC ready to re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Mr Olajide Oduyoye, Head of Planning and logistics for the group complimented Mr Tinubu’s remarks in elucidating the essence of the rally
According to him, “We’ve found it unique, utilising this movement to reach out to voters in their homes and workplaces because we know they might not be chanced to attend a non-mobile campaign”.
“We’ll continue to sound the alarm till February 25th and rally our base to prepare themselves with their PVC to vote come Election Day”.
“There is no perfect leader in America, nor is there a perfect leader in Nigeria, but the closest thing we have as a perfect leader to direct this nation in the right path is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu” Mr Olajide noted.
Antonia Olabukola Adelakun, A staunch APC party member, advised women and youths not to relent in supporting the All Progressive Congress from the Presidency to the house of Assembly, expanding that the party will ensure to broaden its all-inclusive style of governance with the eventual emergence of Bola Tinubu as President of Nigeria.
Hon. Sesan Olanrewaju, the First Chairman of Somolu Local Government and Coordinator of the Group in Somolu/Bariga was also in attendance.
A large number of loyalists representing the Lagos East Senatorial APC flag bearer, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru also joined the procession in their all-yellow costumes, adding more spice to the rally.
The group is slated to similarly take the roadshow to Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Osun and Ogun states respectively to further propagate their message.
