404k3k3mm3mm9171036075753296792 As the 2023 general elections pull nearer, members of the Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM) came out en mass, rallying dwellers in Ikorodu LG to pick up their permanent voter's card.
Catching up with the pro-tinubu campaign group on the 17th of January 2023, Ikorodu News Network (INN) uncovered the faction's movement across the council's ward A to ward G in the Lagos waterbed region.
Led by its founder, Aarebirin Honourable (Dr) Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, the movement left no stone unturned in her 'Collect your PVC' campaign mobilisation scheme.
Communicating with Ikorodu News Network (INN), Folashade-Oba, who's the Executive Vice-Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, said that the campaign is organised to inform residents on realising that the PVC is their right and power as a citizen of Nigeria to beget better governance.
Folashade-Oba explained, "Today, we embarked on a PVC stop. Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM) went around different neighbourhoods, compelling those who are yet to pick up their PVC to do so in earnest".
Telling on the group's convergence at the All Progressive Congress (APC) Secretariat in Ikorodu LGA, Folashade illume, "We used the same medium to pay homage to our hospitable APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun at our party's secretariat".
"We came here to let him know that he's doing a great job for our great APC party in Ikorodu".
"Also, we want him to grasp that together we're cruising to victory for all our APC candidates during the general elections".
"From our presidential candidate, His Excellency, Dr Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running Vice, Senator Kashim Shettima, our Lagos State of Excellence Mr Talk and Do Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat".
"Stretching down to Ikorodu, Our number-one heartthrob, representing the Lagos East Senatorial district, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Ikorodu Golden Boy at the green chamber, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye (OGA), APC candidate for Ikorodu constituency 1 at the Lagos State house of Assembly, and of course, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA), APC candidate for Ikorodu Constituency 2 at the Lagos State house of Assembly, we're going all out for them to seek their triumph at the forthcoming elections".
Dr Folashade-Oba, National Chairman, of the Association of Local Government Vice-Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC), declared that the electoral cycle is no longer business as usual, enlarging that the time is forthwith for every eligible voter to play their role.
"Sometimes we tend to overlook certain things, but this season is vital to our desire for national change" she illustrated.
On the people's reaction towards picking up their PVC, Folashade-Oba expressed enthusiasm in the procedure, asserting that some people experienced difficulty in picking up their voter's card due to delays.
".....because of the delays, we encouraged them by providing mobility to carry interested participates to and fro, enabling them to acquire their Permanent Voters Card".
"With that said, I'll take hold of this medium to express my profound gratitude to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as regards their extension of the date for people to get the PVC, it is my prayer that we all should maximise this sharp opportunity".
Complimenting Folashade-Oba's remarks, the Ikorodu APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun disclosed that APC Ikorodu LGA is putting the finishing touches to galvanising every support for the party's candidates.
According to Alhaji Waheed, "We're not only persuading the people to get the PVC, but we're also enlightening them about the significance of possessing it".
"The good thing is that, as we continue to crusade on this collection process, people are beginning to come in the quest of obtaining it" Alhaji Waheed noted.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) extended the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards until Sunday, January 29, 2023.
