Ikorodu division is beginning to grip the sightful reality of the AMA phenomenon, hauled by Ijede’s own Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro.
Hon. Aro, popularly known as AMA, flagged off his official Ikorodu Constituency 2 campaign as flag-bearer for the All Progressive Congress (APC) on the 28th of January 2023, at the Alajede palace in Ijede LCDA.
Eminent personalities studded the daylight campaign, unifying leaders, stakeholders and a large number of loyal party members all putting on purple customised shirts.
Tagged, “Let The Smiles Officially Begin”, the campaign amassed numerous huge flocks in attendance to vow assistance to an illustrious son of the Ijede kingdom.
The election campaign flag-off was organised by the APC Local Organising Committee, LOC of Ikorodu Division.
Ikorodu constituency 2, the 2nd arm of the waterbed division is made up of Igbogbo Baiyeku, Ijede and Imota LCDA.
From the jump, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and GAC member, instructed the crowd to demonstrate their devotion to AMA by voting for him and every other APC candidates.
Abiodun Ogunleye’s son, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, who’s also the current APC flag-bearing candidate for Ikorodu constituency 1 was in attendance, dishing out his stake of aid to AMA (his futuristic regional colleague).
Saluting Hon. Aro for a successful campaign flag-off, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing the Lagos East Senatorial district extended his appreciation to the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Ikorodu Division for the massive turnout.
Senator Abiru also commended the people of Ijede, Igbogbo, and Imota, for their show of passion towards the party.
He further solicited the people to support and vote for the Presidential Candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Senator Kashim Shettima, and all candidates of the party.
Hitting more on points relayed by Senator Abiru, Ikorodu federal lawmaker, Hon. Babajimi Benson, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, exhorted Ikorodu Constituency 2 electorates to anticipate transformation, not only from AMA’s representation, but also from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu evolving the President.
Further praising the performance of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Jimi Benson stated that energetic traits shared between the All Progressive Congress candidates must bestow the victory it requires at the forthcoming elections.
Now referred to as ‘The Mobilizer’, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, who hosted the flag-off crusade, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba cheered the party leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Ikorodu.
She simultaneously threw her support behind the party’s candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Ikorodu Constituency 2, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA).
Urging party faithfuls to ready for the forthcoming polls by getting their PVCs ready, Hon. Motunrayo Alogba prompted members of the party’s agenda to vote for all APC candidates from top to bottom.
Hon. Fatiu Jimoh Salisu, former council chairman of Ijede LCDA also talked to the crowd in attendance and repeated the significance of voting for all APC Candidates in the forthcoming elections.
At the height of the event, Hon. Moshood Aro, expressed his profound gratitude to both leaders, stakeholders and party members for the large turnout, adding that the support he’s receiving will not be taken with levity.
Hon. Moshood Aro, also explained his precise pursuit to become a quality representative for Ikorodu constituency 2 and urged the party to vote massively for his triumph.
AMA later gave public audience to the head of the Arewa community in Ikorodu division, who in turn, substantially pledged the support of his northern Ikorodu-based denomination to favour the APC party.
Another juncture of the campaign flag-off saw defecting PDP members, who are changing positions to the All Progressive Congress (APC) bestowed the party’s flag, officiated by Prince Abiodun Ogunleye.
Spurring enthusiastic party faithfuls to further take advantage of the remaining open window by INEC to obtain their PVCs, the program was anchored by the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr. Olusesan Daini.
Bldr. Daini, in his off-and-on contribution during the campaign, highlighted the aftermath of PDP’s sixteen years of weak policy performances on Nigeria’s economy, human capital and infrastructural development.
He asserted that the failures of PDP would recede further when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu becomes the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
On the music and entertainment side of things, Ikorodu-based gospel Fuji star, Dare Melody and his live band took the spectacle on a dance relay.
Ikorodu Local Government council boss, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, his vice-chairman, Aarebirin Honourable (Dr) Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba and former Lagos State local government service chairman, Alhaji Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa, Bldr. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, Chairman Ikorodu North LCDA, Prince Kunle Wasiu Agoro, Chairman Imota LCDA were also visibly seen at the campaign.
