As the 2023 general election draws close, the Lagos State Association of Vice-Chairmen (LASACVIC) has officially endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Engaging pressmen on the 3rd of February 2023 at the Bariga LCDA Secretariat, the Association, in a collective voice, described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a leader who’s more than capable to oversee Nigeria as a nation.
Led by Omo’ba Adeola Adetoro, vice-chairman of Eti-Osa LG, and Chairman, of LASACVIC, the association also disclosed that they’ve undertaken a grassroots campaign, compelling residents on acquiring their PVC to vote for candidates of the ruling party (APC).
Explaining that the conference is set to lend a strong voice and support as council Vice-chairmen in Lagos State, Omo’ba Adetoro underlined Bola Tinubu as a trailblazer, talent finder and destiny builder, whose track record substantiates his capacity to lead Nigeria.
She further asserted that the association is also hurling her backing behind the performing Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and all other APC Candidates.
She continued, “A glance into Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s track record indicates he can turn around every negative economic challenge in the country”.
“It is about time for us all to bring into existence good governance to restructure the economy of our great country Nigeria, through the power of our PVC”.
“Let us vote for our beloved leader/father Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the APC Presidential Candidate, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu the APC Gubernatorial candidate and all other APC candidates across Lagos State” Omo’ba Adetero added.
Complementing the Chairman’s speech, LASACVIC East Senatorial Chairman and National Chairman of the Association of Local Government Vice-Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC), Aarebirin Honourable (Dr) Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba expressed her confidence in the Association’s ruling.
According to Folashade-Oba (vice-chairman, Ikorodu LG), LASACVIC has taken enormous steps in her respective local government to impel party faithfuls to possess their permanent voter’s card, which is the only way their voice can be heard on elevation day.
“Recognising that all our flag-bearing candidates are qualified to take charge of delivering ample governance in their respective capacities, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to canvass more and give everyone the need to play an active role come 2023 elections”.
“All Local Governments/LCDAs in the State represented here are standing tall in unity and we’re committing our function to ensure that the number game works in our favour during the forthcoming election”.
“Gazing at the number of registered voters in Lagos State, our focus as an Association is to achieve a landslide victory for the All Progressive Congress party, from top to bottom” Folashade-Oba noted.
On political rivalry, Mr Kolawole Jubril, Vice-Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, and also Chairman of LASACVIC in Lagos central proclaimed that the APC party has no competitor in Lagos State.
In his statement, Mr Kolawole said that the All Progressive Congress, as a party is not coerced by other political group’s crusades, pinpointing the Yoruba catchphrase ‘Awa-Lokan’, as a defining leverage of the APC’s current momentum.
“Anyone can go about saying whatever they feel like, but it’s obvious for all to see that this is our time. We’re procuring the next president of the federal republic of Nigeria, and also re-electing our amiable Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu” Mr Kolawole quoted.
Lucky Uduikhue, Vice-Chairman Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, representing LASACVIC Senatorial West expressed his profound satisfaction with the all-inclusive style of governance illustrated by the All Progressive Congress (APC) party.
According to Uduikhue, “I am from Edo State, and for me to be a vice-chairman in Lagos State is as a result of the no discriminative structure put in place by our leaders”.
“Most of the favourable system of government practice here in Lagos State is not common across Nigeria and Bola Tinubu must be credited for such a comprehensive establishment”.
“As vice-chairmen, we’re coming together to mobilise support for our leaders, fetching their progressive and profitable approach to the glare of Nigerians, and also asking them to re-elect the performing ones, for the continuation of their good works” Uduikhue strengthened.
Shedding light on infrastructural development and effective security, Gbenga Abiola, Vice-Chairman of Agege Local Government emphasised the economic transformation witnessed in Lagos from 1999 to date, crediting Bola Tinubu for providing a consistent Master plan to the centre of excellence state.
Gbenga asserts, “When you’re sellable, it means you’re applicable, when you set pace it means you’re a trailblazer, Lagos State is an example of what Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu means to Nigeria”.
“Tinubu developed policies on Job creation, Environment promotion, Business stimulation, Security Enhancement and Infrastructure development which have stood the test of time, making Lagos one of the biggest economies in Africa”.
“Lagos is the number one State that symbolises the unifying spirit of Nigeria, and it’s a testament to the leadership of Asiwaju” Gbenga Abiola who dubbed himself the youngest vice-chairman in the State concluded.
The conference was hosted by the Executive Chairman of Bariga LCDA and the President of the Association of Local Governments Of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Kolade Alabi.
