Ikorodu branch of Lagos State Park and Garage management held a massive pre-election rally on Sunday, 19th of February 2023.
The supervision unit that oversees the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the region officially hurled its support behind the All Progressive Congress (APC) party, with just 5 days to the presidential and Senate elections, and 14 days to the Governorship and House of Representatives election.
With music playing, the entire management came out en mass, some on their tricycles while others on their foot, the roadshow took the entire Ikorodu inner by surprise amidst the current naira scarcity.
From Ita-Elewa to Aga, Ota-Ona bypass Kokoro Abu, Sabo Market and back to Ikorodu garage, the rally touched the entire Ikorodu central, sounding the electoral alarm at each junction.
The roadshow momentum skyrocketed as the presence of Hon. Babajimi Benson MHR, Ikorodu federal lawmaker, added an energetic and passionate flavour to the movement.
Rep. Jimi Benson, received by the management as a grassroot celebrity while also maintaining his legislative face, left his convoy to walk across the internal sections of Sabo market, before jumping on the road show’s truck and vibing to music while waving his broom.
At Ikorodu garage, the federal lawmaker took hold of the public address system, advising the crowd to keep their intense support for APC active with the elections just days away.
As stated by Jimi Benson, “the good people of Ikorodu division should expect more positive developments and transformation in a post-APC election victory”.
Thanking Alhaji Ibrahim Alausa, chairman of the management in Ikorodu central, Rep. Benson instructed the members to give Ikorodu the highest vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (as president), re-elect Governor Sanwo-Olu (for Lagos State), re-elect Senator Adetokunbo Abiru (for Lagos East Senatorial district), elect Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye (for Ikorodu constituency 1 at the Lagos State house of assembly) and himself back to the green chamber during the elections on February 25th and March 11th.
“Despite the economic crisis we face presently, all we have to do is keep the winning spirit alive as we prepare for February 25th, and for sure, it’ll be a landslide triumph for the ruling party,” Rep. Benson said to jack up the crowd.
The parks and garages management chairperson in Ikorodu central, Alhaji Ibrahim Alausa, complimented Rep. Benson’s speech, asking all his members to display their permanent voter’s cards (PVC) in a bid to show their readiness for the election.
He also affirmed that every one of his members is set to vote for all APC candidates from top to bottom.
