Ginti town is a middle-class scale area (slash between Ijede LCDA and Igbe-Laara axis) sitting in one of the wards in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA in Ikorodu division.
The region, according to sources, has been sleeping in complete darkness for over two weeks which started on the 25th of February 2023, i.e Presidential Election Day to be precise.
An input to Ikorodu News Network (INN), stated that the outage started in the early hours of Election Day after a brief rain pour before daytime.
“We didn’t have light for the entire Election Day, and the next day which was Sunday the 26th, someone said the light came briefly in the evening and went off again”.
“That was it!, as we speak now, today makes it exactly two weeks without light in the area and we need Ikeja Electric’s intervention” the source asserted.
Subsequently, communicating the community complaints to Ikeja Electric’s media platform, Ikorodu News Network (INN) obtained from one of the power supply personnel that the Ijede undertaking team have been disseminating information regarding the supplying issue affecting customers on the Ijede feeder.
He said that undertaking Unit staff have been engaging customers about the progress of work being done at Sabo Injection, adding that Ikeja Electric was also on IKD FM 106. 1 on the 9th of March 2023 to appeal to customers that work is currently going to restore supply.

“This is in addition to SMS, that is, CNN (Customer Notification Needed) that was sent to customers. Ikeja Electric & Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) are working on it”.
“Moreso, a delegation led by Ikorodu LG CDC chairman, Alhaji Sonibare were with the Business Unit Management on Wednesday to further get an update on the efforts being made to restore supply”.
“The delegation was reassured that supply will soon be restored by the weekend when the task is completed” the personnel elucidated.
