His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeoriyomi Abdul-Akeem Oyebo, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom has advised Nigerians to brace up for promising days to come post-2023 general elections.
The paramount ruler, in an exclusive interview with Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the 21st of March, said Nigerians must come together, gazing ahead in harmony, and acknowledging the election’s outcome as a blessing in disguise.
According to the King, Nigeria is the giant of Africa, and it’s about to league up with other developed countries, affirming his confidence in the incoming administration.
Oba Adeoriyomi explains, “As keenly inquisitive as everyone was before and after the elections, it has come and gone! we must begin to heal, regroup and focus on the positivities therein”.
“We’re a nation, strong in our diversity, and no matter the challenges we encounter, we all understand that politics is a game of numbers, which will stem winners and losers”.
“It is all about the bigger picture and what every given government has to offer the people, let our priority be adjusted to effective governance now” Oba Adeoriyomi emphasised.
Discussing Nigeria’s President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the paramount ruler affirmed his optimism in the APC presidential prospect, explaining that Tinubu as a leader will perform beyond Nigerian’s expectations.
He continued, “Bola Tinubu’s victory did not surprise me, because he has worked so hard over the years to get this opportunity, and now that he’s elected to oversee the affairs of this great Nation, I am confident he’ll want to prove a point and outperform all goals“.
“He will want to substantiate wrong those who think he’s old and soft for the task of developing the nation. Nigerians will be surprised by the performance of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I can bet on that!”.
“Tinubu is known to assemble the best brains and finest minds to produce adequate results, as President, his style won’t be any different,” He said.
Veering his opinion towards the results of the gubernatorial election, the monarch declared that no other candidate among the contested aspirants was more equipped to handle the State than the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
He proceeded, “Governor Sanwo-Olu has accomplished a lot in his first tenure, and Lagosians demonstrated their support by voting him back to the state house on March 18th in a massive way”.
“Lagos is a unique state, and only a unique administrator like Mr Sanwo-Olu can preside over this centre of excellence metropolitan commonwealth“.
The Obateru of Egbin Kingdom concluded by asserting, “I want to use this medium to congratulate our President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his victory at the Presidential elections on February 25th”.
“Asiwaju should be bestowed the chance to demonstrate his overtime leadership qualities, which Lagos State is appreciating today, am sure folks who doubted him would eventually change their minds”.
“I also want to congratulate the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on his reelection victory. His second term will attract more growth and expansion to the State”.
“It will be a fantastic synergy between Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria, and Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Lagos State Governor. I am looking forward to that” Oba Adeoriyomi noted.
