Demonstrating a pointed boost from its predecessors, the iconic edifice of Oriwu club of Ikorodu is undergoing a swift facelift, befitting its landmark status.
The ongoing structural changeover has reaped high credits from club members at home and abroad, also drawing commendations from eminent personalities across the waterbed region.
All thanks to Engr. Amid Adekunle Oduborisa, President of the club, whose creative and visionary foresight has peddled him over the years both in the private and public sectors.
An up-close and personal discourse with the well-established president of the premier club became an adventurous tour for members of Ikorodu Media Forum (IMF) on the 24th of March 2023.
From upgrading his office to that of a presidential par, and erecting symbolic flags at the gated entrance of the premier club, Oriwu club of Ikorodu has indeed heightened its taste according to its name.
Speaking with the media practitioners while taking them around, Oduborisa explained that during the beginning of his tenure, he outlined a 5-year agenda plan for the club, which some of his colleagues thought was not possible to accomplish.
He said, “But as we speak, every project is been implemented and executed in record time”.
“As you can see, I came in and transformed my office to a presidential setting, where anyone that comes in would give us the reverence we truly merit as a Club among clubs”.
“The manager and Secretary’s office is been renovated also. There is an ongoing renovation and upgrade of a space we’ve created for Elders meetings”.
“Our completed refurbished State of the Arts conference room, which was commissioned by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the 11th of March 2022 has been commended by all who’ve seen or heard about it”.
“To crown it all, we’re currently working on rejuvenating the ancientest hospital in Ikorodu, which is the Agbala Paediatric Care Centre”.
“We plan to make our 50th anniversary, which we’ll mark by September/November 2023 an unforgettable experience”.
Oduborisa said his tenure, which is slated to expire by January 2024 will consciously enhance the state of the club, categorising his administration as progressive in nature.
“We’re backing our words with actions towards marking Oriwu Club of Ikorodu’s 50th anniversary, you can be rest assured of that,” Oduborisa affirmed.
Members of Ikorodu Media Forum were in all, impressed with the record-time performance approach of Engr. Oduborisa.
Emphasizing value-added, the media conglomerate communicated compliments to the President.
