The National Chairman of the Association of Local Government Vice-Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC), Aarebirin Honourable (Dr) Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba has called on Nigerians to keep hope alive as Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, which echoes the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Imploring Nigerians to use the period to examine and meditate on national liaisons, Folashade-Oba, the Executive Vice-Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government asked Christians to seek divine intervention with the incoming administration.
In a message to Ikorodu News Network (INN) dated 9th of April 2023, the Global Director General of the Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM) said the Easter celebration indicates a fundamental value, which when imbibe, goes a long way in promoting and strengthening the foundation of love, peace and harmony in the country, adding that the season should serve as a reminder to the selflessness, love, sacrifice and tolerance of Jesus Christ throughout His earthly sojourn, his death and his resurrection.
She explained, “Easter, which essentially is about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, symbolises the assurance of the redemptive heritage of all Christians”.
“We as a people must be ready to make sacrifices, just as the Lord Jesus Christ paid the supreme sacrifice by being crucified on the cross”.
“Let us utilise this celebration to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and sacrifice for one another because development and growth can only occur in the nation when all tribes and tongues unite and speak with one voice”.
“The death of Jesus Christ and his resurrection on Easter Sunday gives hope to a world in need of physical and spiritual healing” She asserted.
Folashade-Oba, in conclusion, augmented that without the sacrificial virtues, the development of the country would be vastly weakened, urging everyone to seek the will of God as the Nation embrace a new era of governance.
