Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina has extended his congratulatory messages to Hon. (Mrs) Abike Dabiri-Erewa on her reappointment as Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
The council boss, in his message to Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the 5th of May 2023, referred to Ikorodu-born Abike Dabiri as an erudite administrator, dubbing her reappointment a huge feat for her already prospering career.
According to Adesina, “She deserved the reappointment because her natural work ethic is second to none, always fighting to cater to every Nigerian in Diaspora”.
“Considering that the Nigerian diaspora population is the biggest African population, and also contributes the highest in terms of remittances, Hon. Abike Dabiri must be commended for her performance”.
“I wish her more success ahead as she continues to work in the interest of every Nigerians, prioritising our safety and wellbeing” Adesina added.
Her reappointment was contained in a letter written by President Muhammadu Buhari, urging the Senate to confirm her.
Dabiri-Erewa, a former Senior Special Adviser to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora was appointed NIDCOM chairman in November 2018.
She also served in the House of Representatives as a member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos from 2003 to 2015.
Dabiri-Erewa served as the chairman, of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs at the House of Representatives.
