Out of 6 selected Nigerian students that emerged, four pupils were drafted from the school to participate in the final round.
They will be representing Nigeria at the 2023 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship in Disneyworld, Orlando, Florida, USA.
A statement by the organiser of the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship for Students in Nigeria, ReadManna Empowerment Initiative said the championship challenged students to demonstrate their proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
It added that the Championship was sponsored annually in Nigeria by Zenith Bank PLC, Agusto Consulting Limited, and Airtel PLC. It read in part, “Certified MOS users will become proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, thereby, improving their chances of becoming gainfully employed in today’s digital world. It is globally recognised and allows certified users to apply for jobs anywhere in the World. MOS certification also provides a solid foundation for advanced ICT training and certified users will be able to pursue training in advanced computer technologies.”
The students include Fenna Nwokeji of Aduvie International School, Abuja, FCT; Victor Omoyajowo, of Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State; Adesuwa Igbinedion of Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State; Daniel Uzugbo of Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State; Aderinsola Adeegbe of Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, and Bolurinwa Fabuyi of City of Knowledge Academy, IjebuOde, Ogun State. The students would be accompanied by the following two ICT teachers, Mr Olusola Ajayi of Aduvie International School, Abuja, and Mrs Victoria Adebayo of Faith Academy, Ota, Ogun State.
“The 2023 MOS Nigeria Competition conducted by ReadManna in Nigeria was held between October 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023,” it read.
The grand finale will run between the 30th of July and to 2nd of August 2023 in Florida USA.
The students have since received commendations from Nigerians, including the President of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo.
