Dr. Yekini Nurudeen Agbaje ‘Nero’, has commended the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina for organizing a public hearing on the proposed Security Bye-law for Ikorodu Local Government Area.
The public hearing, which was held on Thursday, 13th of July 2023, was attended by various stakeholders, including former deputy Governor Of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, members of the Legislative Chamber in Ikorodu Local Government, community leaders, law enforcement agents, and members of the public.
In his brief statement, Dr Nurudeen applauded Adesina for his efforts in promoting community safety and security, asserting that the proposed bye-law would help to reduce crime and improve the quality of life for residents in the waterbed region of Lagos State.
“With beneficial measures on security being put in place like this, Ikorodu will continue to enjoy peace and prosperity in all dimensions”.
“Also, letting the people know about the bye-law and giving them this opportunity to contribute to making this process constructive is praiseworthy as well” Dr Nero added.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, on his part, appreciated Dr Nurudeen for making himself available at the program, expressing his continuous agendas to make Ikorodu a safer and more affluent place for all.
Set to reap into its final approval stage post-public hearings, the security bye-law emanated from the executive arm of the council to the legislative axis, which has succeeded in its first and second readings.
