Ikorodu Sapphire Lions Club has recently shown great kindness and generosity towards the children section of the rehabilitation and training centre in Agric axis of Ikorodu, supporting them with welfare items.
Making their presence felt in the early hours of Wednesday 19th of July 2023, the club donated various items to the home to help cater to the needs of the children.
The president of Ikorodu Sapphire Lions Club, Lion Hakeem Banire, on behalf of the club, expressed his delight in being able to support the children who live at the home.
According to Lion Banire, the club (in its voluntary capacity) is always committed to giving back to the community and providing support to those in need across Ikorodu division.
The children’s ward harbours about 28 infants and 44 toddlers.
36 teens and 18 disabled adults benefited from the support, as the club was thrilled with a dramatic display by some teenagers and adults at the home.
Overwhelmed with joy, the head coordinator of the Children Section, Mrs Oseni Suliat Morayo, in return conveyed her appreciation to Ikorodu Sapphire Lions Club for their charitable donation.
She acknowledged that the items provided will go a long way in meeting the needs of the children and improving their standard of living.
Mrs Oseni explains, “This act of kindness by Ikorodu Sapphire Lions Club serves as an inspiration to others in the community to show acts of kindness and generosity towards those in need”.
“Putting smiles on the face of the children is giving hope to the future leaders of the nation, we’re indebted to the aid provided by this club”.
“We’re very grateful to them and we pray that God will continue to provide for them to care for the vulnerable more” she asserted.
The 1st President of Ikorodu Sapphire, Lion Prince Ademola Adesola, immediate past President of the club, Lion Oluwayemisi Abiola, 1st Vice President of the club, Lion Salaudeen Olakunle, and the 2nd Vice President of the club (and also protocol officer for the club both at district and region), Lion Dayo Eniola-Collins and others were all in attendance at the project implementation.
Bag of rice, toiletries (soap, tissues, toothpaste and toothbrush), baby diapers, adult and children clothes, packs of biscuits, earrings, slippers and other relief items were presented to the children’s section of the rehabilitation and training centre.
The club was established in 2018 and afterwards facilitated its official charter presentation in 2019.
