Ikorodu Sapphire Lions Club has once again demonstrated their commitment to environmental sustainability by planting trees at a rehabilitation and training centre in Ikorodu.
The environmental exercise occurred on the 19th of July 2023.
Club leaders and members planted various trees, including fruit trees and ornamental trees, to help improve the environment and provide a source of nourishment for the inhabitants.
The president of Ikorodu Sapphire Lions Club, Lion Hakeem Banire, affirmed his delight in his club’s eligibility to contribute to the environment in such a meaningful way.
He declared that the club is committed to environmental sustainability and will continue to work towards the goal.
Ikorodu Sapphire Lions Club donated five different seedlings to the centre which were dug into the soil by the leadership of the club.
Furthermore, Lion Banire noted that the plants will not only improve the environment but will also provide a source of nutrition for the inhabitants.
The act of humanity by Ikorodu Sapphire Lions Club was received by the management of the centre as a motivation to others.
Lion Banire asserted that as far as the environment is concerned, everyone must work together to protect and preserve the habitat for future generations.
World tree planting day was commemorated on the 14th of July 2023.
