Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club embarked on a tree-planting project at Salvation Army School in Ikorodu on Friday, July 21st, 2023.
The project was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of afforestation and the need to protect the environment.
The Lions Club members, along with the students and staff of Salvation Army School, planted 8 trees on the school premises.
It was exciting for both the students and teachers who participated in the project, showing enthusiasm for planting trees.
Club members (of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club) educated the students and teachers on the benefits of afforestation and the need to protect the environment.
The project was part of the Lions Club’s efforts to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness about the importance of planting trees.
Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club members also utilized the medium to urge the students and teachers to take care of the trees and ensure they grow into healthy plants.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network, the president of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, Lion Abuaja Innocent NLCF, stated that the tree-planting project was a success and thanked the students and staff of Salvation Army School for their cooperation.
He also commended the students for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to continue to take care of the trees.
In all, the tree-planting project was well-received by the school administration and praised for its positive impact on the environment.
The Lions Club members expressed their continuous commitment to continuing their efforts to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness about the importance of afforestation.
