The Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) presented a leadership and excellence award to the Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina on the 28th of July 2023, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the development of education in the area.
The award was presented to Hon. Adesina by the Education Secretary, Alhaji Amusa Afolabi at the Teacher’s House in Ikorodu, attended by members of the LGEA, education stakeholders, and other dignitaries.
Before the presentation, the LGEA Ikorodu commended Hon. Adesina for his commitment to the development of education in the area and his efforts to improve the standard of living of the people.
They noted that the council had made significant progress in the education sector under Hon. Adesina’s leadership, with the construction and renovation of schools, and provision of instructional materials.
In his response, Hon. Adesina expressed gratitude to the LGEA for the recognition and pledged to continue to support the development of education in the area.
He noted that education was crucial to the development of any society and promised to work with relevant stakeholders to improve the standard of education in the area.
Adesina continued, “We’ll bring the LGEA to the council and give them a better space to organise this laudable and unique event come next year”.
“The council is also going to provide two computer sets for the LGEA to enhance their technological approach to earning growth within the confines of the authority”
“This award is just another reminder that our vest interest in the promotion of quality education in the local government is a continuous agenda, and I am grateful for the honour” Adesina asserted.
