The family of Miss Azzizat Rufai were replenished with happiness and excitement on the 10th of August 2023, warmly received and honoured by the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba.
Azzizat Rufai, who emerged as one of the first-class graduates from the Lagos State University (LASU), was presented with a cash reward of One Million Naira by the council.
The presentation was made at the chairman’s office in Ijede LCDA secretariat.
With a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.74, Azzizat Rufai is evaluated as the overall best student in Ikorodu Division that graduated from the prestigious institution.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba communicated her aid towards Miss Azzizat as her administration’s enthusiasm to continuously promote educational excellence in Ijede LCDA.
She asserted that Miss Azzizat’s performance is a feat worth emulating, urging students in Ijede LCDA to see her kind gesture as a form of motivation.
She continued “Azzizat’s success should be recognized as a yardstick, and funding her is a statement to other learners, substantiating our agenda to benefit them if they make this region proud academically”.
“Consider this support as a heartwarming gesture, and we wish Miss Azzizat more educational attainment ahead”.
“We pray she continues to be a basis of light and inspiration to other students, and we hope that she’ll proceed to be a source of pride to Ijede LCDA” Hon. Motunrayo added
Conveying her delight, Miss Azzizat, the biochemistry graduate, said the council’s support is a stream of encouragement to her, adding that she’s short on words to express her gratitude to the council”.
Appreciating the Executive Chairman for being a backing system to her dream, she affirmed her plans to go for her master’s degree shortly after her youth service program (NYSC).
Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba was chaperoned by the council’s vice chairman, Mr Femi Kareem, Head of Department and other executive members of the council, while Miss Azzizat Rufai was escorted by her mother and sister.
