The official graduation ceremony of the free youth skill acquisition program organised by Unique Nelly Academy in collaboration with Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club climaxed on the 12th of August 2023.
The program which empowered some 50 youths across the community on Make-Up and Gele was graced by members of Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club, the administrative arm of the Unique Nelly Academy, and parents of graduands.
Organised to mark the international youth day, the program was commended by stakeholders for impacting lives and making young individuals productive in the community.
Lion Adefugabi Shakirat, President of Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club, appreciated the parents, youth and residents for attending the ceremony, and encouraged the beneficiaries to start up business with the little they have.
Explaining that Rome was not built in a day, Lion Shakirat explained that the graduands should continue to go after knowledge to grow in their respective field.
Furthermore, she stated that the collaboration between Unique Nelly Academy and Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club has spanned 3 years, and has yielded great results in terms of its main objective to serve humanity.

On her part, the Principal of Unique Nelly Academy, Princess Scholastica Chinyerem Nelly encourage the youth to make the learning count in their personal lives by putting their acquired skillset to productive use.
She also enjoined the youths to join the Lions Club at their adult age, adding that it endows individuals with the virtue of giving back to society.
Special gift items were presented to widows in the program, a course always embarked on by Princess Scholastica Chinyerem, who’s also the founder of Great Height Women Achievers Club International.
Former service chairperson of Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club, Lion Prince Tunji Oredipe, urged the graduands to keep serving even when people undervalue, adding that a time to reap their efforts will come.
He explained that the current situation in Nigeria should give youths every reason to take advantage of the free skill acquisition projects.
Subsequently, Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club offered to train 42 youths out of the 50 graduands based on their budget.
The club also resolved to provide start-up equipment for the student to crop up their businesses.
Reciprocating the Lions Club commitment, Unique Nelly Academy lauded the aid of the club, encouraging the affiliation to proceed further.
Beneficiaries were issued certificates of participation.
