Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba held a groundbreaking ceremony of Igbe Ogunro community model primary school in Ijede.

The foundation was laid as part of the council’s plan to improve the standard of education in the region known for its cool breeze and aquatic splendour.

Applauded by the Education Secretary of Ikorodu LGEA, Alhaji Amusa Afolabi, Baale of Igbe and other stakeholders in the region, here are some facts you need to know about the iconic project.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on the 10th of August 2023.

The project is been facilitated by the Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

Igbe Ogunro community model primary school’s undertaking is handled by Care Builder Interactive Concept.

The school edifice will consist of 6 blocks of classrooms, and according to the contractors, the structure will be technology suited.

Mr Lawal Olalekan is the Managing Director of Care Builder Interactive Concept.

Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA disclosed that the school will be completed in 6 months.

The project was inaugurated 2 days after the newly refurbished Obun-Ale Market and Youth training centre in Ijede LCDA was handed over to the council by Ikorodu federal lawmaker, Hon. Babajimi Benson (MHR).

This project is a fulfilment of a promise made by Builder Olusesan Daini during a comprehensive tour and needs assessment of all 13 primary schools in the LCDA. At that time, while distributing educational support materials, he pledged to renovate one block of five classrooms at Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo, complete with standard toilets. True to his word, the project has officially commenced.
Builder Olusesan Daini emphasized his commitment to quality education, stating, "The five classrooms will be fully furnished with furniture, white marker boards, and other essential amenities to create an optimal learning environment for our students."
The renovation project is expected to be completed within the next 51 days, ensuring that the students of Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo, will soon have access to vastly improved facilities for their education. During a recent broadcast on his Kicconline channel's "Morning Glow" program, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo shared heartwarming updates on the preparations for the crusade, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to bringing hope and support to the rural world.
The Christ Compassion Crusade's preparations have been nothing short of remarkable. The dedicated team behind the event has already secured a significant quantity of essential supplies, including one thousand bags of Garri, 30 thousand bags of soaps, 24 thousand printed exercise books, 10 thousand buckets, 10 thousand bags of salt, 10 thousand bags of sugar, and two solid generators, one of which is a 350kVA powerhouse. In addition to these tangible resources, Pastor Matthew emphasized the importance of collaboration and spiritual guidance. The crusade team has convened with 320 pastors on the ground to ensure the event's effectiveness, highlighting the spirit of unity and purpose.
Healthcare is a prominent component of the Christ Compassion Crusade. The medical outreach aims to serve over 30 thousand people, with plans to provide 10 thousand deworming tablets for children. Furthermore, free surgeries will be conducted at the Ikorodu General Hospital, benefiting over 200 individuals. Quick tests for malaria, diabetes, and blood pressure, along with eye and dental care, will also be available.
