Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has become a beacon of hope for her communities, commandeering every medium to deliver the dividend of democracy to people within her jurisdiction.
The council boss, who had recently commenced the construction of another community model primary school in the Local Council Development Area, doled out free food supplies to residents on Monday 14th of August 2023.
Tagged, “Ijede Tunrayo Ayo Ni Temi Food Support Program 4.0”, the support program bestowed confidence to dwellers despite the sharp economic downturn faced by Nigerians in recent times.
The assistance scheme took place at the Ijede LCDA Council Secretariat.
Rice, beans, tubers of yam, vegetables, palm oil, and spaghetti, are among the commodities packaged for residents, who received the support with joy, reciprocating gratitude to the council chief.
The initiative has equally garnered praise and gratitude from the community, including leaders around the region known for its cool breeze and aquatic splendour.
In a heartwarming gesture, 2,500 residents in Ijede benefited from the food palliative aid.
Former Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Salisu Fatiu Jimoh, in his remarks, praised the council boss for trying beyond her capacity to meet the need of residents.
Hon. Salisu urged inhabitants to continue to pray for the council leadership for them to fervently live up to numerous neighbourhood expectations.
Ijede apex leader, Alhaji Jamiu Adisa (Golden Jay) applauded the council boss for her tenacity and zeal to fulfil the necessity of residents, urging the town to support the present administration for better results.
He clarified that government can only thrive with the cooperation of the people, maintaining that the people’s synergy is required to uplift the region.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) before the distribution of the welfare packages, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba explained that the essence of the program is to alleviate the sufferings of residents in Ijede LCDA, adding that everyone deserves the little support they can get at this time of inadequacy.
She expressed her optimism that the support will go a long way to put smiles on the faces of people for a while, as the government works on ways to eradicate the challenges besetting the economy.
“There is nowhere in the world today that things are not hard, but with all the shortcomings, we’re still working hard to ensure that our people understand that there will be light at the end of the tunnel”.
“This food aid agenda is simply to ameliorate the agonies of our people, as we work on varied ways to provide the premia of effective governance to them”.
“I only asked that our people continue to support and believe in this administration because the best is yet to come” Hon. Motunrayo added
Vice-Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Mr Femi Kareem, Delegates representing the Obateru-in-council, staff of the LCDA, Councillors from the Legislative arm of the council, religious leaders, leaders of the town’s traditional institution, market men and women, transport workers, the disabled and less privilege, youth coordinators and others were in attendance.
