IKORODU PIONEER VIRTUAL LIONS CLUB HOLDS READ-ACTION PROGRAM AT TEMIDIRE PRIMARY SCHOOL, GIFT-PERFORMING STUDENTS ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

48i4n4n6760680122369710525 Bidding to charge-up the intellectual capacity of young scholars, Ikorodu Pioneer Virtual Lions Club held a read action program at Temidire Primary School on the 8th of September 2023.
Promoting the local yoruba culture among students, the club, known for it consistent welfare course, set up the reading challenge to incite the academic proficiency of learners on the spot.
Throwing the competition within students for a considerable duration, winners were selected and presented with gift items.
Post-challenge, the club acknowledged the student by giving participants learning items, urging them to always remember and know the value of culture (in Yoruba language).
Organised to celebrate World Literacy Day, the school administration commended Ikorodu Pioneer Virtual Lions Club for impacting knowledge in the students.
Past President of the club, Lion princess Adebukola Adefolayiga, explained project read action project as a means to reduce the rate of literacy in the community.
"We have this kind of project once or twice a year which can be either adult literacy to promote literacy skills among the adults".
"But today's program which most hold in primary schools".
Explaining the impact of the project on the student, she asserted that the project is meant to broaden the knowledge in reading and spelling at a low level for students that can participate in the federal and state government competition.
Representative of the Local Government Education Authority Ikorodu District II secretary, Mr. Segun Mabunmi appreciated the Lions Club for the project.
"It is a very hopeful project" said Mabunmi
"It helps the student to know the value of their language and put more effort to speak, write, spell and read their native language".
"It is also a way of helping them academically" Mabunmi added.
A teacher of Temidire Primary school, Mrs. Balogun Gift lauded the Lions Club for bringing indigenous, cultural and heritage orientated project to their school, explaining that the teachers will appreciate it if the Read Action project becomes a continuous project between Ikorodu Virtual Pioneer Lions Club and Temidire Primary School.
Lion Olokode motivated the students to face their education squarely, illustrating what Ikorodu Pioneer Virtual Lions Club is all about.
He also presented 5,000 naira to the 1st position which was sent by one of the club member living abroad.
Head Teacher of Temidire Primary school, Mrs Owogba R. expressed her towards the club for gifting the students with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
She also commended all participating students.
Soliciting a successive relationship with Temidire Primary school, she appreciated Ikorodu Pioneer Virtual Lions Club for bringing such a laudable project to her school.
