50TH ANNIVERSARY: ORIWU CLUB IKORODU HOLDS WORO PROCESSION, RECEIVES PRAISE FROM OBA KABIRU ADEWALE SHOTOBI, OBA AREMU SHOTONWA, OTHERS ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

494jn4n Despite the wet weather, executives and members of Oriwu club Ikorodu, came out en mass to officially kick start their 50th anniversary celebration on the 12th of September 2023.
The celebration billed to start with a Woro procession came to fruition as the club in all-green top casual attire came out from their base to move across the central part of Ikorodu.
Ushered by traditional Woro music performers, the club, led by its President, Otunba Amid Adekunle Oduborisa, routed the popular Sabo market, through to Ojubode, before moving to the palace of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi.
Receiving the club with open arms, HRM, Oba Shotobi, danced to the Woro tunes before pouring out his words of encouragement, prayers and blessings on the club.
The paramount ruler of Ikorodu dressed in the club's green casual attire as he welcomed the executives and members.
He congratulated them for commemorating the 50th anniversary in grand style, asserting that the club possesses a prestigious pedigree that can't be matched within the waterbed region.
Oba Shotobi, also commended the President, Otunba Amid Adekunle Oduborisa, expressing that he's cognizant of the numerous laudable projects being executed by the current leadership of the club.
Responding to the king's warm reception, Otunba Amid Adekunle Oduborisa praised the king for always catering to the affairs of the club ever since his involvement.
He cited how the king sponsored the club's meeting for the month of March 2023, adding that Oba Shotobi has been a force to reckon with for the continuous prosperity of the club.
At the palace, the club was greeted by the Odofin of Ikorodu Kingdom, Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, who partook in photo sessions with the club. From the castle of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, the club wasted no time as they proceeded to the palace of the Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Aremu Shotonwa.
The King, welcomed the club in excitement, praising the current leadership as well. Chaperoned by the Olisa of Ipadoko, High Chief Oludayo Shotomiwa, Chiefs, Baales and esugbos, Oba Aremu Shotonwa said from his perception, the Oriwu club can be considered a generational gathering of movers and shakers of Ikorodu.
He advised the President of the club to expand the club's branch to other parts of the world for diaspora members to leverage.
"Oriwu club is known far and wide, it is only right that at this duration, more branches are created for the club to speak volumes Internationally".
"The essence of the club and its defined uniqueness over other clubs must be taken advantage of to gain more popularity in Nigeria and abroad".
Oba Shotonwa greeted the founding members of the club who are still alive and active in the club's activities, urging new members to learn from the accomplishments of their predecessors. He later prayed for the club and asked God to shower more longevity on all its members.

He noted that every suggestion presented by the king would be promptly acted on.
After a brief photo session with the king, the club left to continue its woro procession, moving through the inner footing area of Ikorodu.
From Ita-Elewa, Itumoja to Ejina market, they walked on foot to Salvation Army School road before taking their convoy bus back to the club's headquarters along Sagamu Road.
