Following the completion of the distribution of 50,000 educational materials across schools in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, the executive chairman, Bldr Sesan Daini has stated plans to further improve the educational sector of the Local Council Development Area.
The council boss made the statement on the 14th of September 2023, explaining that the just concluded 3-day academic support program, allowed him to move around the 13 schools under his jurisdiction, to ascertain their challenges and provide solutions.
According to Bldr. Daini, “Now that we are done providing books for 12,000 students, we will go back to review other pressing needs we observed across the schools during the program to see what can do to help them”.
“Among the schools we observed, Methodist primary school Igbogbo will be having a full renovation with furniture for 5 classrooms, plus we’re going to provide them with a standard toilet”.
“In Salvation Army school, we will equally renovate the 6 classrooms and also provide them with a standard toilet”.
“Methodist primary school Elepe 1/2 will be getting 6-8 toilets, and in Salvation Army school Agunfoye, we’ll provide them with classrooms and toilets amongst other schools we’ve deemed due for enhancement.
“In summary, we’re saying NO to illiteracy in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, we’re saying NO to children dropping out of school, we’re saying NO to our children lacking school materials and lacking the right learning environment” Bldr. Daini said.
The chairman further stated that in the process of enhancing the schools, hardworking teachers would get financial assistance.
