Founded in 1973, it has reflected a longevity of collaborative partnership to better the lives of people and communities.
With its 50th anniversary marked recently, revealing the club’s rich ideology and creative antecedents, one has to marvel at how the club will hold its prosperous record in the coming years.
Their current legacy project which gave a new face to the ancient Agbala annex of Ikorodu General Hospital has echoed the club even more, making others wonder if the current accomplishments of the club can be maintained or, better yet outshined.
In a bid to cash in on its progressive track record and sophisticated capacity, the president of Oriwu Club Ikorodu, Prince Amid Adekunle Oduborisa declared openly a successive plan of the club, a formula to keep the identity and core objective of the body evergreen.
The president disclosed the club’s futuristic leadership plans during its 50th anniversary.
According to Oduborisa, past and current presidents are initiating mediums for their children to become full-time members of the club, a form of passing the torch.
The agenda is to give their juniors access to how the club is been operated in areas of fulfilling its social responsibilities, and core objectives, in for them to easily fill the gap.
The president explains, “As we speak! My son, Engr Jamiu Adeniran Adekunle Oduborisa, has been enrolled to be a member of Oriwu Club Ikorodu”.
“Former Minister for Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe’s son, Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government is an enlisted member”.
“Also registered is our very own DG’s son, Gbolahan Ogunleye, the current Ikorodu constituency 1 Lagos State House of Assembly member”.
“Half-brother to the chief publisher of Oriwu Sun, Alhaji Monzor Olowosago, Mr. Kamar Olowoshago has also been hooked up!”.
“Those are just a few of the names I can give you now”,……Oduborisa said to Ikorodu News Network (INN),…”Getting them signed up is qualifying them to see what we are accomplishing momentarily, so they can do more when it’s their turn to oversee the club“.
