It was another uplifting day for Education in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA as the only female councillor in the council’s legislative chamber, Princess Basirat Adetutu Banjoko rehabilitated two classrooms and provided a water tank stand/Fetching Point for Methodist Primary School Igbogbo.
The project was commissioned on Friday the 22nd of September 2023 by Chief Asipa Kaoli Olusanya and presided over by the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr. Olusesan Daini.
Receiving a high level of commendation from the school administration, Princess Basirat, the councillor of ward C1 and Deputy leader of Igbogbo Baiyeku legislative chamber, appreciated the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for a timeless mentorship.
She also acknowledged Ikorodu apex leader, Asipa Kaoli, and her council boss, Bldr. Sesan Daini for leading the pack effectively, providing her with a palatable room to function.
Furthermore, she commended the Methodist primary school administration for cooperating with her towards the successful completion of the project.
According to Princess Basirat, the sole aim of the project is to help students by providing them with a better learning environment.
The program, themed; ‘Maintaining A Clean Environment’, she explained that the school is observing overpopulation, which causes inconveniences for pupils.
“It was due to those inconveniences that spurred me to get to work on facilitating the extra classrooms as a form of service to humanity,” she said.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Princess Basirat illustrated that the school also lacked access to clean water which prompted her (as councillor of the ward) to provide the tank, stand and fetching point.
Urging the school administration to apply maintenance culture in preserving the resources, Princess pleads with everyone to imbibe the heart of giving.
The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeki LCDA, Bldr. Sesan Daini, in his address dubbed the day celebratory, equally applauding the project facilitator, Princess Basirat Banjoko.
Emphasising performance, Bldr Daini expressed his satisfaction towards all councillors in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA working and making things better in their numerous wards.
Bringing his attention to Methodist Primary School, he said, “Seeing this project is a challenge to me!”.
“As I’ve promised, Methodist Primary School building renovation with fully equipped furniture, and building of 8 toilets which will be commissioned in the next 50 days” Bldr Daini said.
The council boss asserted the party’s developmental mandate for communities will continue to reflect in his administration as voiced during his campaign.
Before commissioning the project, Chief Kaoli Olusanya praised Princess Basirat Adetutu for prioritising education, explaining that education is the first way to escape poverty.
He further encouraged the administrators of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA not to relent in fulfilling their mandate because it is a way of giving hope to the people.
Mrs. Ogunfeyimi, HeadMistress of Methodist Primary School Igbogbo praised the council chairman, Bldr. Daini and all other leaders in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA for their consistent support towards education.
Pointing out that Bldr. Daini’s administration has not for once left the education sector, she encourages the leadership to keep propelling and investing in the life of the future generation around the communities.
Representative Education District 2, Mrs. Odusanya also saluted the work of the administration in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, urging them to proceed with doing good.
Adeboruwa-in-council Chiefs, Mr Taiwo Orenuga (chairman APC Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA) and other auspicious guests were in attendance.
