Shams El-Deen Senior Grammar School, an institution known for its commitment to educational excellence, hosted a grand Speech and Prize-Giving Day to honour its outgoing students, who are poised to be the latest graduates of this esteemed institution.
The day’s event dated 11th of October 2023, was graced by Princess Islamiyat Abiodun Oyefusi, who emerged as the chairperson of the occasion, aiming to celebrate and motivate the students on the backdrop of the global observance of Girl Child International Day.
In her remarks, Princess Abiodun extended a warm welcome to esteemed guests, including the former principal, the current principal, vice principals, the Teacher’s Old Student Association, and various dignitaries.
She underlined that being Girl Child International Day made the occasion even more special, highlighting the significance of addressing and supporting the future leaders of Nigeria.
Princess Abiodun shared an inspiring message with the students, drawing a parallel with Thomas Edison’s relentless pursuit of success in the face of adversity.
She encouraged the students not to be disheartened by failures but to persevere in their educational journey.
In an interview with Ikorodu News Network (INN), Princess Abiodun further emphasized the importance of imparting knowledge and representing their school with honour.
She stated, “For both the serious and less serious students, I want you to focus and concentrate on your education because the future is bright through education.”
Mr. Shomoye, the VP Academic and Chairman of the planning committee, congratulated the graduating students and reiterated the significance of education in shaping a promising future.
Mr Toyosi Bello, a former student of Shams El-Deen Grammar School, representing the Old Student Association, highlighted their ongoing commitment to the school’s growth and success.
He advised the students to remain focused, self-disciplined, and courageous, and to maintain a positive attitude towards education.
