In a candid and exclusive interview held at his palace on the 27th of October 2023, Prince Abiola Kosoko, the Oloja of Lagos, Elect, and Chief Executive Officer of Origin Gardens and Resort, Ikorodu, shed light on his roles as a traditional leader emphasized the need for the Lagos State Government to foster an environment conducive for the thriving tourism industry.

Dressed in regal attire, Prince Abiola Kosoko, who is known for his commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Lagos, spoke passionately about his responsibilities as a custodian of tradition and heritage.

He stressed the importance of preserving Lagos’s rich cultural history and traditions in a rapidly evolving world.

“Tradition is not just about the past; it’s about the future,” the Oloja of Lagos, elect, declared. “We must preserve our cultural heritage while adapting to the changing times to ensure that our traditions remain relevant.”

Turning his attention to the tourism sector, Prince Kosoko voiced his concerns about the need for the Lagos State Government to create an environment conducive to the growth of tourism.

He emphasized the potential of Lagos as a top tourist destination and the importance of investing in infrastructure, security, and cultural promotion to attract tourists.

“I believe that Lagos has the potential to become a global tourism hub. We have a rich history, beautiful landscapes, and a vibrant culture to offer. However, for this potential to be realized, we need the government’s support in building necessary infrastructure and ensuring security for tourists,” he said.

In a heartfelt moment, the elected Oloja of Lagos expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government for appointing his wife, Mrs. Sola Kosoko, as the new Managing Director of LTV (Lagos Television).

He commended the government for recognizing her talents and dedication, asserting that her selection was long overdue.

“Her appointment to such a prestigious role is not only a testament to her hard work but also an example of the government’s commitment to gender equality and inclusivity. I am immensely proud of her,” Prince Kosoko said with a beaming smile.

As the interview concluded, the elected Oloja of Lagos had words of advice for the youth of Lagos. He urged them to be self-productive, stay focused on their goals, and be active participants in building a better future for the city.

He noted that the youth were the driving force for progress and encouraged them to seize opportunities.
