Hosting the initiative, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, expressed his excitement as residents turned out en masse to participate in the health program. Emphasizing that this initiative is a Lagos State endeavor, Adesina highlighted its goal to provide easy access to new developments in the health sector.
Furthermore, Representing LASHMA, Mrs. Ojo outlined the program's benefits, presenting various family plans to ensure inhabitants have seamless access to quality healthcare. She emphasized that the program, which includes the Lagos State Ilera Eko Scheme, offers affordable healthcare, requiring patients to pay only for critical health challenges.
Mr. Shakiru Owolabi Showemimo, the Ikorodu Local Government Super for Health, expressed appreciation to LASHMA, the Lagos State Government, and the community for their active participation in the program.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Mrs. Benson, one of the beneficiaries, extended her gratitude to the state government for prioritizing the health sector. She acknowledged that while the present administration is actively addressing various sectors, the focus on healthcare is commendable.
The program, which featured free tests for HIV, diabetes, and blood pressure, aimed to bridge healthcare gaps and promote a healthier Lagos. The event drew attention to the importance of community health and the collaborative efforts that contribute to the well-being of residents.
