His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi Ayangbure Of Ikorodu Kingdom, on the 8th of December 2023 announced the appointment of Chief Mrs. Busola Isikalu as the new Iyaoloja General of Ikorodu Division.
The appointment was made at the palace of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu kingdom, in the presence of prominent figures, including Otunba Ayodele Elesho Agba Akin Of Ikorodu, who initiated the proceedings with a prayer for the occasion.
Otunba Elesho emphasized the significance of unity and collaboration among the market leaders and congratulated the newly appointed Iyaoloja General.
“I implore everyone who contested for the post to collaborate with the new Iyaoloja. We can’t have two winners; we will surely end up with one,” said Otunba Elesho, highlighting the need for harmony among the market community.
Various market leaders, including Chief Iyabo Ahmed Iyaoloja Mile12, Chief Idowu Anjorin Iyaoloja Imota, and Chief Paramole Monsurat Iyaoloja Ikorodu West, offered prayers and support for the newly elected Iyaoloja General.
HRM Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi expressed gratitude to all present, acknowledging the efforts of the committees appointed for the screening process.
He urged market men and women to collaborate actively to elevate Ikorodu Market to new heights.
Chief Mrs. Busola Isikalu, the newly elected Iyaoloja General, pledged to work towards promoting businesses within Ikorodu and the nation.
She also envisioned an Ultra Modern Market Secretariat for Ikorodu and called for unity among market leaders and participants.
“I appreciate everyone for their support; I will never fail you,” Chief Mrs. Busola assured, concluding the ceremony on a note of optimism for the future of Ikorodu Division’s market.
Chief Mrs Busola Isikalu now fills the vacuum, following the unfortunate demise of the former Iyaoloja General, Alhaja Taofikat Allison.
