The Community Day celebration which took place at the Police College Parade Ground in Ikeja on December 14, 2023, saw Elepe Royal Estate Community Development Association (CDA) proudly clinch the 3rd position, marking their excellence as one of the best CDAs in Lagos State.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of a gleaming eighteen-seater bus to the CDA by the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The gesture signified the government’s recognition of the CDA’s outstanding contributions to community development.
Chief Olabanji Oreagba, the Chairman of Elepe Royal Estate CDA, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu, praising the governor’s commitment to advancing community development initiatives across the state.
He asserted that supportive gestures demonstrated by the Governor will further spur other CDAs to improve their performances which will overall transform the rural communities into semi-urban areas.
The Community Day Celebration, graced by dignitaries, showcased a vibrant display of pop and pageantry.
Notable attendees included the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hazmat, and his wife, Hon. Ganiyu Okanlawon Sanni, Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development.
Also present were Mr. Bolaji Robert, Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, Permanent Secretary Alhaji Azeez Amusa Aremu, Chairman of the Community Development Advisory Council.
The event witnessed the participation of Royal Majesties from various regions across Lagos State, which includes the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare-Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, and others, underscoring the unity and collaborative spirit among communities.
Elepe Royal Estate CDA’s achievement, coupled with the generous gift from Governor Sanwo-Olu, serves as a testament to the government’s commitment to recognizing and fostering grassroots development.
