Lagos State branch of Great Height Women Achievers International hosted a special end-of-year party dedicated to the widows in the community on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
The yuletide gathering was held at Igbodu in Ijede LCDA, Ikorodu.
Commencing with a solemn prayer session, where members and widows alike joined in seeking blessings for the Great Height Women Achievers International.
Princess (Chief) Mrs. Ezuma Chinyerem, affectionately known as ‘Nelly’ and the founder/president general, presided over the occasion, setting a reflective tone for the evening.
The primary objective of the gathering was to alleviate the hardships faced by the female gender, particularly widows.
The widows, along with the members, left the event with hearts full of joy and hands filled with numerous gifts.
Displaying a true spirit of compassion, the organization showcased an array of welfare items, including clothes, bags, and shoes, for the widows to choose from during the party.
Princess Ezuma expressed her excitement about the women’s response, stating, “The women were very excited with the level of support we gave them to mark our end-of-year party, letting them know that they’re not alone.”
Emphasizing the organisation’s commitment to its mission, she reiterated, “As we availed the gift items, we reiterated our mission, which is to always support the widows on different means and mediums to the best of our capacity.”
Acknowledging the challenging economic climate of the year, Princess Ezuma expressed gratitude, saying, “Despite the economic challenges this year, we’re grateful to God for making it possible for us to meet the needs of the downtrodden.”
