A day of opulence and prestige as Oriwu Club, situated in the heart of Ikorodu, hosted an extravagant presidential party on the 16th of December 2023.
The event, held at the club’s exclusive Somi Jaiyesimi Hall, brought together influential figures from both within and outside the waterbed region.
At the forefront of the celebration was Otunba Amid Adekunle Oduborisa, the esteemed president of the Oriwu Club.
Acknowledged for his unique leadership, Otunba Oduborisa orchestrated the event with grandeur, designating the current Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, as the chief host.
In his address, Otunba Oduborisa expressed gratitude to his dedicated executives, attributing the success of his tenure to their collective efforts.
He emphasized the club’s transformation under his leadership, highlighting notable achievements such as the upgrade of the General Hospital Agbala Annex, considered his legacy project.
“In all, I must thank God for making it possible for this tenure to accomplish everything we have attained,” Otunba Oduborisa humbly added.
Calling for continued synergy in leadership, he urged future leaders to build upon the momentum he initiated to propel the club to greater heights.
Dr. Tunji Alausa, the honorable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, shared a deep history with Otunba Oduborisa and expressed excitement at being the chief host.
Commending the president’s administration, Dr. Tunji highlighted Otunba Oduborisa’s consistent application of professionalism and expertise in various endeavors.
Addressing the next phase of the General Hospital Agbala Annex, Dr. Tunji pledged personal support for the project, showcasing a commitment to community welfare.
The event radiated glamour with live band music entertaining the distinguished guests, including founding members and prominent personalities.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), commended Otunba Oduborisa’s leadership approach and encouraged collaboration between club members at home and abroad.
The pinnacle of the evening was the presentation of special recognition awards to notable personalities, including Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, His Royal Majesty Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, and Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, and others.
The festivities continued with the cutting of the presidential party’s cake and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr F.O Lasisi.
