Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu marked a significant milestone on the 17th of December 2023, in the state’s agricultural development by commissioning the mid-level Food Agro Hub in Idi-Oro, Mushin.
The event, attended by key dignitaries including Deputy Governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat and Commissioner for Agriculture Ms Abisola Olusanya, showcased the government’s commitment to boosting food production and ensuring a sustainable future for Lagos.
During the unveiling ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu, alongside the Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Agriculture, unveiled a commemorative plaque symbolizing the official inauguration of the Agro Hub.
The Governor expressed his optimism about the positive impact the hub would have on the local community and the broader Lagos State.
In a symbolic gesture, Governor Sanwo-Olu, joined by Chairman of Mushin Local Government Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye and First Lady Dr. (Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, cut the tape, and officially opened the doors to the Agro Hub.
This moment signified the commencement of operations aimed at enhancing agricultural activities in the Mushin area.
The newly commissioned Food Agro Hub boasts state-of-the-art facilities designed to support mid-level farming enterprises.
With a focus on sustainable practices, the hub is expected to facilitate increased agricultural productivity, create jobs, and contribute to food security in the region.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, Commissioner for Agriculture Ms. Abisola Olusanya, and Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat took a tour of the facility, inspecting various aspects of the Agro Hub.
