Hon. Adebowale Adebola, the leader of the legislative chamber in Ikorodu local government highlighted the importance of rigorous analysis and constructive engagement in refining and aligning the budget with constituents’ priorities.

Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) Adebola stressed the responsibility to ensure public funds are utilized effectively, transparently, and in the best interest of the community.

“A diligent review of this Budget proposal is crucial,” urged Adebola, calling on colleagues to engage in substantive discussions across various departments and units of the Council.

He emphasized the community’s trust in their elected officials to allocate tax funds wisely for the betterment of their lives and sustainable development.

Expressing gratitude to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Adebola commended his commitment and dedication to the development of Ikorodu Local Government.

He urged collective efforts to work towards a budget aligned with the community’s vision for growth and progress.

Hon. Wasiu Adesina outlined the major focuses for 2024, emphasizing the development of Ikorodu Local Government.

The establishment of a central motor park, designed to enhance traffic flow, particularly around the garage and roundabout areas, was announced.

This initiative, under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), will involve collaboration with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

Adesina also highlighted plans for a new legislative building to separate the councillors from the executive arm, ensuring a clear separation of powers within the local government.

Additionally, he pledged continued improvement of empowerment programs for various demographic groups and announced the upcoming commissioning of the ICT Center at Ita-Elewa.
