Members and executives of Oriwu Club in Ikorodu are paying their respects to the late Prince Tajudeen Adedapo Odofin, a pioneering president of the esteemed club.
In a brief press release to Ikorodu News Network (INN), the club is commemorating the life of its distinguished past president, whose impact resonated deeply within the community and the broader landscape of Lagos State.
Born on September 30, 1941, Prince Dapo Odofin played a pivotal role not only as one of the 23 founding members of Oriwu Club in 1973 but also as the Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, leaving an indelible mark on the club and public service.
President Otunba Amid Adekunle Oduborisa expressed the shock and sadness felt by the community and the club upon learning of Prince Dapo’s passing on January 23, 2024.
He described Prince Odofin as a man with a warm and principled personality, emphasizing his roles as a loving husband, caring father, and accomplished Accountant.
“As a dedicated member of Oriwu Club and the Board of Trustees, he played a crucial part in the club’s growth and success,” remarked President Oduborisa, highlighting Prince Odofin’s significant contributions.
The late Prince Odofin was remembered for his affable, cooperative, and helpful nature by colleagues in the Lagos State Executive Council. Despite his notable background, he remained a modest and genuine gentleman, offering firm yet sincere advice on various matters.
President Oduborisa extended Oriwu Club’s heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, acknowledging the difficulty of this painful time. He wished them courage and strength in coping with the irreparable loss.
As Oriwu Club mourns the passing of a beloved pioneer president, they also celebrate a life well-lived—a life dedicated to family, community, and the broader cause of humanity.
President Oduborisa asserted that the legacy of Prince Adedapo Tajudeen Odofin will forever be cherished by the community he served with dedication and distinction.
