IKORODU NORTH CDC’S AGM 2023: UNVEILING A VISIONARY PATH FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

Displaying unity and purpose, the Ikorodu North Community Development Committee (CDC) hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Musical Village in Ikorodu on January 30, 2024.

The theme, “The Dawn Of A New Reality,” resonated throughout the event, marking a significant stride toward transformative community development.

The AGM commenced with a spiritual ambience as Chief Imam Sulaimon Muzamil and Pastor Olayinka led a stirring prayer, laying the spiritual foundation for a day centred on reflection and progress.

Rotarian Michael Kehinde Amao, the AGM’s Chairman, extended a warm welcome to esteemed dignitaries, including HRM Oba David Olukayode Raji, Eweye of Isiu, HRM Oba Moroof Oyekunle Oluwa, and Mrs. Morayo Lamilisa, Asst. Director of the Community Development Dept. at the Ministry of Lagos Rural and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Recognized leaders such as Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, Dr Kayode Opeifa, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, and others added grandeur to the occasion.

Mr. Amao commended the increased participation of Community Development Associations (CDAs), emphasizing the community’s unwavering dedication to progress.

Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, JP, newly elected as the 2nd Vice and CDC Chairman for Ikorodu North LCDA, expressed gratitude and outlined the AGM’s role in transparently reporting to CDAs.

Throughout the ceremony, Prince Ogunbanwo called for intensified development projects, emphasizing critical areas such as education, infrastructure, electricity, and security.

The community’s needs were brought to the forefront, reflecting a commitment to holistic progress.

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, praised the AGM’s transparency and assured Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to supporting community projects.

Lagos East Senatorial District Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Represented by his Media Aide, Mr. Enitan Olukotun lauded the CDC for their collaboration and passion to serve, highlighting the senator’s contributions and promising continued support.

The CDC recognized outstanding personalities with special awards, including Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, Bldr. Sesan Daini (Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA), and more.

Recognition extended to state and federal representatives underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in community development.

Dr. Kayode Opeifa, the guest speaker, in his address emphasized Ikorodu’s unique status and called for community support for government initiatives.

Builder Adeola Banjo, Executive Chairman Ikorodu North LCDA, showcased ongoing infrastructure development, lauding the transformative journey.

The celebration of Ikorodu North CDC’s recognition and accolades, including new buses, from the Lagos State Community Day, added a triumphant note.

Eminent personalities such as the Eweye of Isiu, HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji, State Officio Mrs Morayo Lamilisa, Chairman of the Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council, Alhaji Azeez A. Amusat, Commander Sanni Ibrahim Oyeyemi, and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, graced the occasion, marking a pivotal moment in the community’s journey towards a brighter and collaborative future in sustainable development.
