
Working towards uplifting the living standards of teachers in Ikorodu, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ikorodu branch organized a unique sales program at the Teachers House, offering household items with a flexible repayment plan and favorable interest rates.
Displaying a lasting impact on the teaching community, the program symbolizes a step towards greater empowerment and recognition for educators in Ikorodu.
Spearheaded by the branch chairman, Comrade Fakolade Oluwafemi Oluwaseun JP, the initiative aims to elevate the social status of educators within the community.
Comrade Fakolade highlighted the significance of the program, emphasizing its role in providing teachers with a convenient avenue to acquire essential household items.
The repayment period spans from 6 to 12 months, accommodating the varying financial capacities of educators.
Through this initiative, teachers were able to access items such as generators, refrigerators, washing machines, and televisions, essential for enhancing their quality of life.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Comrade Fakolade noted the achievements of his administration and its commitment to continually breaking barriers until the end of their tenure in 2025.
“We will not stop until the last day in 2025. That’s our creed with teachers of Ikorodu,” he affirmed, underscoring their dedication to serving and empowering the teaching community.
The initiative signifies NUT Ikorodu Branch’s proactive approach towards addressing the socio-economic needs of teachers, setting a precedent for similar endeavors within the education sector.
