LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT, DISTRIBUTES 20 BRAND-NEW TRANSFORMERS TO COMMUNITIES ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, has announced a significant milestone in the state’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure.

Under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Government has initiated a Rural Electrification Project through the Office of Rural Development.

According to Dr Agbaje, The primary objective of the project is to ensure reliable power supply to rural communities across the state, addressing a long-standing challenge faced by residents.

“In a demonstration of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to this cause, 10 out of 20 brand new transformers were distributed last week”.

“The communities who has already benefited from this transformative initiative includes; Oda Ilogbo Eremi in Olorunda LG, Gengenla Accord in lgbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Lasu, ojo campus in Ojo LG, AMA CDA in Ijede LCDA, Liberty CDA in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Agbede Omolaiye in Ikorodu West LCDA, Agbado Oke Ado CDA, Oral Estate in Epe, LCBs in Ayobo Ipaja, and Fountain Riverview CDA in Kosofe”.

“Residents of these areas have expressed gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for prioritizing their electricity needs and taking concrete steps to address them” Dr Agbaje said.

Furthermore, the SA stated that the distribution of the remaining 10 transformers is scheduled to take place in the coming weeks, further expanding the reach of the electrification project.

The initiative displays Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life in rural areas by providing essential infrastructure and services.

“As the project progresses, it is expected to have a profound impact on the livelihoods and development prospects of rural communities, empowering residents and fostering economic growth”.

“The Lagos State Government remains steadfast in its efforts to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas, ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities for all citizens” Dr Agbaje asserted.
