Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, Chairman of the House Committee on Public-Private Partnership, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), launched a significant solar equipment distribution initiative in Ayetoro and Oreta communities on the 20th of May 2024.

The project aims to alleviate the ongoing struggles caused by inconsistent power supply in these areas.

The distribution event, attended by community members and local officials, marks a critical step in addressing the frequent power outages that have plagued the axis.

Dr. Bala Mohammed, representing the UNDP, emphasized the importance of this initiative in improving the quality of life and economic stability for the residents.

“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to sustainable development and providing reliable energy solutions to underserved communities,” said Dr. Mohammed.

Hon. Abiodun highlighted the broader impact of the initiative, stating, “This is not just about providing solar equipment; it’s about empowering our communities and fostering a better environment for growth and development. Reliable power is a fundamental necessity for progress.”

In addition to the current distribution of solar equipment, the rural light-up project has plans to install street lighting in the next phase.

This initiative is expected to enhance security and mobility in Ayetoro and Oreta, further contributing to the communities’ development.

The partnership between AMA Team Small Foundation of Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun and UNDP signifies a robust effort to tackle the challenges of epileptic power supply and improve the living conditions of rural communities through sustainable energy solutions.
